But I know a lot of people who will do the same with their heating and it leads to endless discussions I can imagine to compromise on AC use easily to save money, but not on having it warm. Just keep the house with window blinds closed, buy an outdoor awning. Like... I doubt you need an ac, honestly and truthfully. We have one. I told him, its just for him, if he wants to cool house he needs to turn it off before i go and dont open the doors. Which does allbthe time. I got so sick of waking up drenched in sweat that I bought him blankets for his bed and told him off I pay the electric bill. I'm always hot and like to keep the temperature cold so that means blasting AC in summer and keeping heating low in the winter My dad and other siblings are always cold and want the temperature hotter so they always want AC turned up not as high but in winter wanna cook us with the furnace and turn the house into a sauna The last year was easy cuz my family went thru a temporary rough patch financially when my dad's hours were cut and I was unemployed and couldn't pay them much rent so both AC and heating was just kept to a minimum simply for money issues so there was no fighting But now that things are better again, me and my mom want the AC blasting this summer and my dad and siblings want it lower cuz they are always cold.
