After a few hundred spins and giving it some time to settle, and coming back to it about a week or so later, it's no longer her best album for me - but it's still pretty up there. I almost always skip Stupid Love and 1000 Doves. I sometimes skip Enigma and Plastic Doll as well, but less-so. Stupid Love because it's a bad song to me (please spare me the lecture, Stupid Love stans) and 1000 Doves because it's a detour from Sine From Above to Babylon to me. Sister 9,907 Posted June 28, 2020 Share Posted June 28, 2020 1000 Doves and Sour Candy are the two best songs off the album and both are standout from the rest. My two favorites for sure, immediately. The album has an exciting of the moment feel, I would say that it stands as proof of Gaga being inspired by her days and nights living as a denizen of Las Vegas. It has a spirit of the strip, if you've ever been and I think it's a perfect time for a record of this state, for Gaga. I enjoy it's fresh mood, maybe because it's refreshing, at this time with so much heaviness happening daily and because I myself can be very serious and melancholy. It's fun to just want to preen around and dance to it all and almost nothing is as great as Gaga's voice. The future's uncertain and the end is always near.
