MOT 3,020
I think she should proritize her own physical and mental health above all else. Get herself as well as possible first, and then see about her art. I'd rather be dry, but at least I'm alive. I don't like that line. If you find yourself writing that line, I think you may need to start being more honest with yourself.

That said, I'm sure we all have some constructive criticism. I guess my own would be: 1) It bothers me that some of the lyrics of "Born This Way" undermine her message of acceptance and inclusivity. This is not me being overly sensitive, as I'm a white woman, but I know several people who are upset with her usage of "chola" and "orient." As this is more or less her anthem, and she'll likely perform the song over and over throughout her career, part of me wishes she'd revise the lyrics. I firmly believe she had no ill intent when she wrote them – quite the opposite – and it's precisely for that reason that I think the lyrics could use a tiny makeover. 2) I've mentioned this before, but I think she and her team may wish to rethink how they do meet & greets, if at all (who knows – in the age of corona, they may fall by the wayside). The cost is exorbitant for the few seconds you get to spend with her. Of course, it's different if you're one of the fortunate ones to be gifted a free m&g, but $2000 is a lot of money to pay for a glorified op. At the very least, perhaps it could be advertised more accurately so that people wouldn't be disappointed. (I know there are some people who've had extremely fulfilling m&gs, but at least with Enigma, there seem to be a lot of disappointed folks; one woman at my m&g actually gave Gaga and her team a double middle finger and shouted "There goes two motherf*cking thousand dollars down the drain!" as she stormed off, and several other people from my m&g group were complaining in a less colorful manner after.) I also think having such expensive and rushed m&gs runs counterintuitive to her some of her messages. (This is one of the things though that she may not have a lot of control over; as I mentioned at the start of this message, we don't know most of the behind-the-scenes negotiations.) 3) Edited to add: oh, and the inevitable postponement/cancellation of TCB needs to be addressed ASAP. She can do what Elton John's team did and announce the postponement and give ticket holders the option for a refund or to hold onto their tickets until new dates are announced. I like to add that m&g at tours should be done after the show so that you can get a picture with her instead of an akward group photo aka joanne world tour and maybe a quik hug and the show can begin on time because i read here that you couldnt touch her because she because she was already done up and stuff
Doot 2
My suggestion? Take a break. A long break. Work on healing and bringing yourself to a place where music is the thing that consumes you again. Where you live and breath your art.

This 100%, as a latinx person I cringe every time I hear BTW's bridge, like I know what is the message she is trying to get across but that's just not the way to do it. I'd love for her to re-record it and alter the lyrics, especially because I think it would also acknowledge that the discourse on equality has changed a LOT since she wrote that song (all the way back in 2010). We definitely need to normalize changing one's position on certain issues when presented with new information, and this would go a long way to setting an example! A girl can dream. Leave pop and dance and focus on her artistry within the experimental genre. 3. Give the activism message in her music a break. Not every song or album have to be about kindness, acceptance and love. There are more things to sing about. 4. Return to long form music videos and stunning visuals and collaborate with unique designers and not rely on Haus’s cheap recreation of her iconic past looks. 5. No need to cry when making a statement. One can still get a message across without having to cry because at this point, it feels more like PR and less like genuine emotion. 6. Don’t take very long between eras. People move on easily and Gaga isn’t like Adele where a blurred selfie can break the internet for 48 hours. 7. Give tours and album photoshoots as much budget as those for magazines like PAPER. Her tours are mediocre compared to her epic award show performances. 8. I hope she focuses on music and art and giving them a meaning that is seen within the work itself, better lyrics and visuals..etc because I’ve notice that while most of her songs are great, her lyrics is mediocre and so many of her songs feel like she gives them meaning retroactively and most of the time it feels too exaggerated compared to what the actual work implies. Seriously, i'm starting to think you're a hater.

OCD 405
1. Release more music 2. Bring iconic films-videos back 3. Release what you promised your fanbase, even as an off-streaming unofficial treat. (Americano mariachi, Act II, LG5, Telephone film successor) 4. Stop making empty promises, if you're not 100% sure, don't talk about it like you are, or at all, focus on what you do put out, FOMO is real. 5. Worldwide tours matters. 6. You know your fanbase carving unreleased material. Leak what you can. 6.1 Musicland.
metalguru 1,553
I can't criticize her. I can only adore her and follow her. I LOVE HER. Following notes are just my fan fantasies. 1) Instrumental experiment: I want her to explore instruments within the reach of pop music without rely too much on electronics. 2) Experimentalism in high speed: A couple of experiments one after another without giving long, long breaks. An EP maybe? A double side single? I feel like sometimes she needs to embrace throwaway trashy attitude of her early Lower East Side days and stop chasing big narratives. Imagine Gaga goes like this: 3) Quieter Pop: Joanne wasn't melancholic pop, and she proved that she can write melancholic, soft ballads, not only glam rocky bossy ones. Chromatica lyrics excite me a lot -I think about ARTPOPy ballads with touches of Kate Bush. 4) ARTPOP Revenge: I adore ARTPOP.. but historically speaking.... it is not really ARTPOP by genre. It is more like DadaPop or Manic Pop lol. ARTPOP Gaga, as a title, reminds me of alternative music of 80s and 70s, Roxy Music, Kate Bush, T.Rex, Adam Ant... Fey, shameless, experimental, with rich instruments and melodies, always catchy, but still underground and edgy. This is what is called art pop in the annals of music: 5) Less narrative control: I like the fact that she is once again controlling her narrative but it is always to see her artistry when things go off the rail... I don't want to see her depressed like ARTPOP era but sharper/colder/bitchier/messier attitude certainly is going to come back and it will be interesting to see her with her 10+ music experience letting things go. It always happens to big artists. Lost direction becomes an accident and accident becomes an experiment.

ArtpopAct2 2,672
I would never criticize the music she chooses to make because even though I have my own favorite type, I always want her to keep exploring and doing new things even if it ends up not as much to my taste However the big one I can agree with is to not promise something she can’t deliver. Going off of that, release more of the stuff that we KNOW exists but don’t have! It is becoming a trend for artists to put previously unavailable songs on streaming not necessarily for a new album but just by popular demand. I don’t think there’s ANYONE with a more hyped up unreleased catalog than Gaga. Dozens of songs we know exist that are just locked up in a vault. And the fact that she takes breaks from studio albums sometimes, like, why doesn’t she just have it mastered if it needs to be and put it out? Is she saving it for something? I really just don’t get that. I don’t even need a whole era with photo shoots and videos for Act II. And I don’t think anyone else really expects that either. Hell just use one of the great outtakes from the ARTPOP photo shoots for the album cover. It’d be great to just have the music. Reading that Temple was completed and mastered from those leaked documents is just like... And it’s not like this is all stuff that we weren’t supposed to know about. She would straight up talk about it, tease it and share snippets.
