She literally got Zedd a contract ffs. Part of what comes with her stature in the industry, and she’s talked about this before, is leading the way for others and being a mentor. No one should know their way around male-dominated spaces in the industry like her so the question begs that does she have a responsibility to use her platform to help other women navigate them? I’m not saying there’s a right or wrong answer just that it’s a conversation that has merit to it. That would be like if Sally Ride said “eh f*** female scientists, there aren’t many so I don’t need to do anything about it.” Change only happens when people go against the tide. I totally understand your point but I just feel like she shouldn't work with someone just because it's a commentary or because it's a good thing to work.. She probably found what she was looking for in those producers that are on the album and that's it.. She worked with SOPHIE but she clearly for some reason decided to not include it in the album.. Maybe it was just not THAT good..
MonsterofFame 1,785
Whoa I totally forgot about the Sophie collab. I wish Gaga would be like other artists are release collabs or features with other artists in between album cycles. Of all our pop faves, Gaga releases the lowest amount of music. Once Chromatica is no longer promoting singles, it would be great for the track to be released by Gaga or SOPHIE, but knowing Gaga and her team this is never going to happen. Tresor 1,649
Sophie, although groundbreaking in 2016-18, sounds very dated already. I'm glad there won't be any bleep bloop pots and pans music on the album.
Gagaplayer315 14,032
Well she promised to leak anything that wouldn’t make it to the album so there’s hope
Anderson123 38,377
Well to be fair Gaga never said theu were working together, it was Sophie who said that and because a fan asked. She was also like whatevs because that’s what producers do, they work on some things here and there and they’re very aware that sometimes they don’t always make the final cut. This was also in the early stages of LG6 when Gaga was still working with DJ White Shadow so I think it’s pretty obvious she went on another direction. There's even many studies about women in work place and it showed that girls usually prefer other jobs.. For example you'll rarely see women working as mechanic.. You giving that reaction clearly tells me that you're not ready for this discussion tho.. Anyways.. I'd be happy to discuss this with you in PMs if you're interested.. Don't you think that the huge ammount of social pressure of all kinds women have to live with since the day they're born has anything to do with what they in general choose to do or work as? I'm sure it's not the only motive, but either way, it doesn't invalidate the fact that women are not well represented and recognized as producers and songwriters due to huge institutionalized sexism in the industry. I'd love to have a chat, but as I'm answering these threads, I'm working on my virtual classes am i-e-i-e-i-e-i-e-i-e-i-p-plastic

I just think that it's hard to find someone who is doing exactly what you wanted them to do. Gaga found that in those men and that's totally okay. She tried working with SOPHIE but it for some reason didn't work..

She tried working with SOPHIE but it for some reason didn't work.. I agree! Of course Gaga didn't include SOPHIE for solely artistic purposes. But that's another story tho. Not trying to give you a history lesson but, as you may know, or should know, all through history women have been excluded on literally everything. Every industry known now started male-dominated, until women are given the chance to participate and, eventually, gain equality. And, evidently, the music industry still has a long way to go and a lot to change on that matter. And I also think it's a possibility that Gaga doesn't work with basically any female producers/songwriters due to them being too underground, and she's forced to work with producers more on her status level, which are in a huge majority, MALE (hmm, why would that be so?). Also SOPHIE has been gaining a lot of popularity in these past years that's what enabled her to work with a big name like Gaga am i-e-i-e-i-e-i-e-i-e-i-p-plastic
