Yeah those websites are legit. Sometimes songs get registered just for the sake of it and never get released

BMI ( or ASCAP) are where songs are registered for artists to control licensing and royalty compensation based on songwriting, performance, etc  So yes, legit, although stuff may show up that never gets released in order to document it if it ever does, etc.
