This is what my friend who lives in Vegas wrote on FB about it: Luckily, (1) the mayor here doesn't control all that much, the county government is far more important, and the Strip isn't even in city limits; (2) there is only one other true crazy on the city council, and a couple of sane smart ones; (3) we have an excellent governor of Nevada who actually does listen to the experts and is being intelligent and cautious about preserving life; and (4) Ms Goodman does NOT represent Las Vegas, she just pretends to on TV.
