...the source is a site called metalsucks... i would only start worrying about that once a reliable source like the WHO or government agencies, etc announce something of that sort

They linked to the NYT as the primary source. But I definitely agree with your assessment of reliable sources. You would think they would have an epidemiologist as a panelist, but from my quick skim it didn't seem to be the case.

I’m willing to risk becoming infected to see Chromatica live

You'd also be risking the wellbeing of healthcare professionals and the vulnurable people they're treating but you do you :huntyga:

I think people need to stop acting like there’s going to be a certain point where there’s no more risk for contracting Covid-19. The US can’t keep everything shut down like this forever.

If Gaga went on tour in June/July, which she’s not, I’m just making a hypothetical situation, I’d probs not go. But from the rumors she’s going to start touring later this year, it’s still going to be a risk showing up. Though the risk may be lower, it’s going to continue being an issue until there’s a vaccine.

edit: and even with a vaccine, there will still be cases of people getting it.

Basically that means that a vaccine wont be made, which is a possibility, considering that the flu vaccines even today need to be taken every year and sometimes they dont work.

That also means that the natural herd immunity will take us out of this. The governments need to be honest and tell the people if that's the case.

A vaccine is possible but not for a long time. It'll take a year to a year in a half.

Since there is no cure for this at the time, I agree that building natural immunity is our only way out at this point. Shutting everything down to flatten the curve was the right thing to do but it's not a long-term solution.

We can never remove risk completely. The precautions and lockdowns are only put in place to spread out infection over time, so that the healthcare system doesn't collapse. And this way we have more time to prepare, stock up on equipment and do research about the virus.

As we learn more about the virus and have more time to adjust to the situation, lockdowns can slowly loosen up.

The exaggeration..... I literally can't. I'm all for safety, but if we had to listen to those scientists, we'd be in lockdown forever. Coronavirus will be a part of our lives now, that's a fact, you can't put humanity under a globe forever.

This it took China 3 months to get it under controle so they heavily exaggerating they cant exspect us to put society on hold for a year

The reality is that flu vaccines have limited powers. U basically need to do them every year and even then they sometimes fail.

The other reality is that in a year and a half the herd immunity will happen by itself. The same happened with the spanish flu. I guess the good news is that it isnt as dangerous and healthy people under 60 face minimal risks.

I agree with what u say about lockdowns.

can't they just force you to wear a mask or something? that seems insane... maybe they're assuming no vaccine at all?

The reality is that we can't be 100% sure what happened in China. I also think that the lockdowns there were something else.

Even if we accept that they are telling the truth, there are still restrictions. They haven't opened cinemas, so probably public gatherings are still limited.
