Haus Labs is such a non event in the beauty industry that is hard to imagine it even being a thing a year from now.

Every aspect of it is relying solely on Gaga's star power but it won't be enough to keep this business going.

To be completely honest, as long as Gaga keeps mixing business with friendship, every project she decides to launch from now on is likely to fail.  I won't be shocked if she releases a Wig line by Lady Gaga and Frederic Aspiras in the future.

And my statement above applies to her music career as well, we all saw the decline in quality when she stopped hiring real directors to direct her videos, professional choreographers...

Doesn’t she refer to Bradley Cooper as a good friend? Seems like their version of A Star is Born wasn’t a failure.

I think it’s best if we let Gaga do what she wants :) I respect your opinion however I’m 99.9% sure Gaga and Sarah know what they’re doing. Just give it it time there’s plenty of room to  grow and if you don’t like it it’s best to just ignore it, idk what else to tell you:shrug:

If this “hurts” her which I doubt it will, oh well:shrug:

Lol. I’m not saying they’re wrong, I’m saying it doesn’t matter.

That door slammed shut the minute she signed a contract with Amazon and didn't do everything she could to get her product in Sephora imho. The demographic that buys their makeup from Sephora matches HLs targeted demographic (economically) much better than the demographic that orders their makeup from Amazon

No shade, but why is she with Amazon?

Gaga already explained why the colors for her first palette are basic. It's not her fault anymore that these people don't buy it.  Besides, she's currently winning in life so who cares about 50 people trashing her brand. Haus Labs is still new, she and her team have all the time to improve. These people are acting like HL's been here for years and not improving.

REALITY

Personally, I don't get why people get so mad or annoyed by the lack of "fun and bright" colors. Like, this is her first palette, and she's obviously going to make more, just give her time. People don't necessarily seem to understand that the average consumer of make-up doesn't watch beauty gurus 24/7, and quite honestly would rather have a more "neutral" palette as opposed to crazy blues, greens, yellows, etc. Having her first palette be something that is more universal makes complete sense.

Well considering she has some of the most unclockable lace front wigs in the industry alongside Nicole Kidman I’d know a sh*t ton of drag queens who’d buy from her (myself included).

And as for this “she needs to stop working with her friends” nonsense her entire career is based on her working with her friends 💀 her entire debut was about her and her friendship group making all her fashion (because she was broke) and her technology and the she even carried on doing that to this very day. Her entire career is her working with her friends... she’s friends with Steven Klein, Jonas Akerlund, Ruth and Nick. She’s making a makeup line that doesn’t want to one-up the competition and instead she’s making stuff her fans like and she likes...

Shes also not failing because products are selling still and she’s able to release new ones. She also didn’t work with Sephora etc because they restrict stuff; same way Jefferee for example only works with Morphe.

Franch Toast

It's fine with me if people on Reddit, or on this site, or wherever, dislike Haus Labs. People can hate it till the cows come home, but as Gaga herself said, it's not going anywhere.

I don't really care what other people say about it, because at the end of the day, I'm not susceptible to "influencers" (I'm too old for that sh*t), so if I like something, I'll buy it and re-buy it; if a product does me wrong, bye-bye.

I love the Glam Attacks and am about to order a ton more in the new colors. I love them so much more than any eyeshadow out there. They're great for someone like me who is lazy about makeup and doesn't have the time or patience to spend 30 minutes blending out her eyeshadow. I also love the eyeliner and will be buying it in the brown color too, because this is the first felt tip eyeliner I can actually use without looking like a panda. The lip pencils and glosses are fine to me, but I'm not clamoring to buy those in other shades right now like I am with the Glam Attacks. I'm going to order the lipstick and the lash topper and see how I like those. I'm even going to give the palette a try and see if it might not surprise me. If I don't like it, I won't repurchase. It's that simple.

I've received so many compliments on my eye makeup, not only from people who know me but also strangers, ever since I started wearing Haus Labs. To me, the quality of the products and my happiness in wearing them is more important to me than what the Reddit crowd thinks. Honestly, I'd rather not be wearing something that everyone else is and tend to prefer things that are on the periphery anyhow.

I don't think people who dislike Haus Labs are haters. People shouldn't blindly worship everything a celebrity does. There are things that I think could be better about Haus Labs, but I have no idea what's going on behind the scenes, and I'm just here to enjoy the ride. If one day I no longer enjoy the ride, I'll get off.

Because Amazon’s shipping system is what she needed because it costs a lot of money for even her to hire and ship it all and she’s busy with other stuff too; had she went with a brand as a subsidiary or done a deal with a department store they’d give her restrictions and she clearly doesn’t want that

And you are right, but thats not the problem here, what people are saying is, that you can find those same colors on a gazillion other palettes, both cheaper and more expensive, why should people buy this one if it brings nothing new to the table?

Ive seen your argument quite a bit, and its fair to say that Gaga is just starting and stuff, but she is very late to the party, the industry is oversaturated with brands and products, and HL isnt doing anything to stand out. IMHO she just doesnt have time for "playing it safe"

She’ll have a crazy palette and then they’ll complain Jeffree does it better and she’s just copying crazy palette trends

Think of it when she releases her second single and people say the first was a bad choice to release.

And I can also, to some extent, understand that argument, but to me, that's never really been a valid one. There's only so  many colors you can do for a neutral palette. It's not like the "possibilities are endless", because in order to make a neutral palette, there have to be certain shades that compliment skin tones.

While she certainly is late to the game, I think as of right now playing it safe is her best option.  If you release your first palette filled with crazy and eccentric colors, how wearable is that for an average consumer? I know that other brands are able to have crazier palettes and sell well (look at the Shane Dawson x Jeffree Star palette), but at that point, you're getting the palette for the name recognition and not necessarily the shades themselves.

And yeah, Gaga's a bigger name than Shane or Jeffree, but to me, I think it's smarter to make sure that you have a good base for your make-up company, and then expand from there. Besides, the formulas are what matter, not the shades. And from what I've seen so far, many people do indeed like the formula.

I had to scroll halfway to see any comments that weren’t negative.

It does seem that most comments didn’t buy or test out the products themselves and attacked Gaga’s look. Like there’s comments about her eyebrows.

And there’s still meat dress comments a decade later.

I feel like people get to be misogynist to Gaga just because reddit is driven on anonymous profiles.
