She was a little too neutral on TFM for my liking lol I was like wow.....but I personally think that had to do with how long people were pestering her to listen to it. After all that hype she was probably like

Whats creative or fresh on that album? Its like an anemic retrospective on her career instrumentally alongside some of the corniest tracks she has ever officially released (Superstar, B Day song, GMAYL). I can go on and on with how flawed this album was but I did enjoy Love Spent at least. Gang Bang was like...a Peaches ripoff without any power but at least dig the intent lol

well I think Love Spent, GangBang, Best Friend, I’m A Sinner, Beautiful Killer, I Don’t Give A, Falling Free are all  creative and enjoyable. 

i think it’s clear that she made a “retrospective” album so she could create an epic tour with revamped versions of her old hits to match the new sound of hers. I mean Girl Gone Wild was very obviously made for it and GMAYL for SuperBowl perhaps

i mean retrospective but make it quality. our m did not. but we gotta agree to disagree i guess. I just cant imagine anyone that appreciates madonna would not think of this as one of her weakest offerings if not just because they want to make it seem like she has no bad albums lol

Ive kind of got her taste pegged tbh (there was a period of time around when she came out and reaction videos were like the hot new thing on youtube where i was indulging anyway). She doesnt like when gaga sing talks like she does at the start of sheisse or starstruck, she also doesnt like when tracks arent very vocal based. shes all about the vocals and some semblance of a "message" that she can reach for to fill out her video time.

ive also noticed shes not really partial to tracks that sound blatantly gay oriented, like a dance in the dark for instance lol but ive noticed that about a lot of people. theres like a style of electro pop that sounds "gay" to people and they can pinpoint it and it would seem it doesnt appeal to the average consumer. and if we get into a larger conversation, i think for awhile gaga put that sound on top 40 radio but weve strayed so far away from it which is a large reason as to why she doesnt get as much replay as some of her contemporaries from the same time that werent as specifically queer demo. this is also why i theorize people claim a track like ditd sounds "dated" because people associate this sound with that time period because thats the only time theyve been aware of its existence. when in actuality that whole synthpop vibe has existed since the 80s and is essentially timeless. but this is a whole conversation irrelevant to the thread :p

Everyone on her comments telling her to react to her 80s and 90s stuff, yet she chooses MDNA and Rebel Heart. I mean, RH is good, but it’s not really amongst Madonna’s finest. And let’s not even get into MDNA...

But that's the thing, the only reason this album exists is exclusively so that she could go on tour. The tour was a slay and a half, but MDNA has got to be the most soulless and hollow pop album probably ever. Madonna was 100% on autopilot, blatantly trend-chasing, and you can also tell they rushed this mess to tie in with the Super Bowl and tour announcements with all those mistakes in the mastering (the fact that it was mostly on the William Orbit tracks makes it that much worse). Yeah, two or three tracks are cute but the negatives far outweigh the positives.

Say what you want about that album, but the Madonna on Rebel Heart was actually inspired and invested in the project, and you could totally tell compared to how indifferent she was during MDNA. Even she knew it was a dud.

So yeah, MDNA is 100%, inarguably, hands down, completely and totally her worst album ever.

Might I also add that she tends not to pick up on song meanings unless it's explicitly stated in the lyrics. A lot of metaphors and references made in Gaga's music (the biggest crime was Dance in the Dark, but she also did this with Speechless and parts of Joanne) fly right over her head and I'm like because then she'll rate a song as meh or bad. Idk it's kind of difficult to explain.

I loved that she really liked Rebel Heart! that album is great and I still listen to it, doesn't deserve the hate it gets and it's so much better than MDNA.

I have no idea why she asks people on Twitter and YouTube about which Madonna albums she should listen to. EVERYONE is telling her to listen to Ray of Light, Confessions, Erotica and Like a Prayer and she decides to go for MDNA.

yesss haha like i kind of knew she wouldn't love born this way just based on everything i figured out about her musically from her videos tbh. and it also makes sense as to why joanne is her favorite. She DID love The Fame though which threw me a bit gotta say BUT its wiiidely regarded as gagas most commercially popular release and people are always praising it, and i also think she tends to get infected by popular perception. so she knew it was her most iconic album statistically therefore she was ready to love it. imo. lol but its also just a great pop debut (and the messaging and pop vocal were both quite straightforward enough for her to dig). anyway. rambling.

This is the first time I’ve listened to every song on the album and I actually liked all of them  I seriously don’t think this album is bad. Give Me All Your Luvin’ and Superstar are so catchy and cute (her Super Bowl performance was excellent). You know what? Out of spite for everyone who hates it, I’m gonna download MDNA!
