Why does the GP love ENIGMA more than fans do?

I have to respectfully disagree. I’ve been to The Monster Ball Tour, artRave, Joanne Tour, and ENIGMA. BTWB got cancelled 4 days before my show in Philly because she broke her hip.

I don’t see those same concepts over and over. The Joanne Tour was based on her most personal LP to date and hence it was stripped down. I didn’t get a vibe that it was a greatest hits showcase. You have to remember that when these artists go on tour or have a residency, they have to cater to a variety of demographics. She’ll always be there for her fans, but if she has GP folks attending she has to play songs that they’re familiar with as well.

You have to also keep in mind that up until ARTPOP, she had roughly 3-5 songs from each album that became a single and she performs some version of them everywhere these days.

Ultimately, the way I see this...she’s celebrating what she’s accomplished so far and her energy shows how happy she has been. It’s all celebrating love, and her life up until now.

I have been to TMB, BTW Ball, artRave, JWT, and Enigma. I understand she has to play to many different demographics than just her core fanbase. It just seems as time goes on, it turns more from a concept of the album to a showcase of who she used to be.

I think she's obsessed with the "look who I've been" instead of the look where I'm going. That's the biggest shift I've seen as a fan. Gaga was the future when she first started but now she is at a stand still and pointing towards her past.

I'm excited for her to move on and go into LG6. ASIB was the first taste of who she wants to be as an artist now.

These are people who think that scrapped songs would fare better than singles, music videos they haven't seen are better than ones with 1B views, and albums that were never even recorded are better than the ones she releases. The what-ifs are more exciting than the realities and the history. Part of what makes her so enigmatic is that for the first 10 years of her career she was vague and non-committal to most aspects of her grand performance as Lady Gaga. She could be Venus reincarnated one minute and a cheap hooker smoking on the side of the street the next, she purposefully tried to make herself impossible to nail down, in doing so she allowed herself to become everything. Enigma is putting a great portion of the first 10 years into perspective and definitively answering the question "Who is Lady Gaga", it's a bold statement for somebody who would say "this is who I really am" as 5 different characters every week. It's no secret that a lot of pop music fans have no real taste in the arts, they're just attracted to what's entertaining. By reclaiming her image she's lost that element of excitement. The fans who never paid enough attention to notice, or those who liked the wizard behind the curtain over the spectacle think it's a fantastic show.

In short they're fans of their own perception of who Lady Gaga is, not of the Lady Gaga that goes on stage and sings for the children every night. If they were they'd love a celebration of her legacy. :ohwell:

GOD BLESS THIS POST. DRAAAAAG THEM.

And the fact that enigma can travel around the states for big corporations but she can’t seem to bring it to cities for just one night seems :saladga:

or maybe she's using these events to see how well it travels.

I think Enigma itself is a plot by Lady Gaga to bore the fans with what she has already done so they welcome something new and don't always say "i want another fame monster". So fans quit expecting her to do what she has already done and appreciate new directions and ideas and songs.

I mean... it's JUST chemistry after all. Who needs that. Our lord and savior Gagalupe will bless you.

Believe me, if I didn’t absolutely need it to start clinical rotation in the fall then I would have dropped the class to see Gaga for sure. :bradley:

I’d say this is just because she’s doing a greatest hits show rn. And especially with the speech before BDR at Enigma, it seems like the show is the last moment of her first ten years before she moves on to the next. (This is not at al to say she’s gonna stop performing her hits tho.) I just think the next thing that comes (LG6) is going to be very new.

I know, but fans being stuck in the past is not the reason. This is the earliest in her career Gaga can literally go. I’m personally dissapointed in the setlist because Perfect Illusion and A-YO aren’t included, neither is Venus or Do What U Want (although I understand that)

These songs had their moment on their respective tours, she can't custom-make a setlist to fit the personal tastes of every fan. I'd rather have her perform fan favorites like DITD or Scheisse that haven't been performed in ages than honoring songs she did less than 3 years ago.

don't put words in my mouth. ENIGMA is flat and that's the truth, every other tours/shows that gaga has been done is way better than ENIGMA.:bye:

Did you actually attend the show?

Of course the show is still enjoyable. People we all like her songs and voice. But the presentation can be so much better. Enigma is leftover ARTPOP tech and the storyline is very weak and cringe worthy. Even some of the set list does not fit with the enigma theme.

The costumes are not dazzling or iconic, something you would think a Vegas show would excel in. They too are cringe worthy.

Enigma just doesn’t seem like she has progressed, but instead looks like a downgrade.

And the biggest disappointment is that her team is so messy to tell everyone to come to Vegas knowing how hard that is for all of us.

And the fact that enigma can travel around the states for big corporations but she can’t seem to bring it to cities for just one night seems :saladga:

Who said she has no plan of bringing ENIGMA around the world at some point?

Also, I'm just going to leave this picture here for you to enjoy:

(also just noticed your avi, so I guess we do agree on one thing - or maybe you're just having a hard time making up your mind)

LM hate it because she is "stuck" in Vegas. I guarantee if Enigma was a world tour all fans would adore that she has a storyline, special effects, and fan favorite songs.

Agreed. I've said it 100 times and I'll say it again, but the only negativity comes from people who didn't attend and / or can't go, so I guess it speaks for itself. Of course it's frustrating, but it's not a reason to be a bunch of salty little ingrates

Because it's a full on greatest hits show, with the hits played as they were written?

You know that Scheisse was in every JWT date, right? She gave up on her lead single for a song she already overperformed.
