JohnWayne92 2,228
Okay, so, I'm not saying she is doing this, I'm saying, what if she did? Kind of in the vein of Miley releasing 3 EPs to make an album. Each EP could be a different side of Gaga. You could have the dark, the experimental, the adult contemporary, and the pop. Each EP would be 4 songs, and each would have 1 single. It would be up to her if she wanted to do a "visual album," for each or just have the 1 video for each EP. If she chose to release physical forms of each EP, they could be an interlocking booklet kind of idea that made up 1 digibook style album. On the flip side, she could choose to not release anything physically until the last EP is released and it's an entire album. Each EP combines to make Gaga, a la, the Enigma that she is. It could be called Gaga or Enigma, in my opinion. Both would fit well. The Dark EP I imagine to be the perfect mixture of TFM and BTW, giving those fans exactly what they are wanting. Basically, I picture the weird photo shoot we got with the distortions for this. Black and white, very dark/creepy images. Sounds like Bad Romance, Bloody Mary and what not would fit here. The Experimental EP I picture very much like Enigma, she can do her neons and anime and robots and futuristic stuff with this. I picture her PC/Techno music here, if she planned on releasing that. Sounding like Government Hooker, Scheiße, Venus, Swine. Adult Contemporary EP would be her stripped down stuff. I'm not saying go full Ally or full Joanne, I'm wanting "Gaga" to be present in all of these. I'm thinking like the look at the end of the Joanne video, kinda Stevie Nicks and AHS Coven mixture. Nothing dark or scary, obviously. Here is where Shallow, Speechless, Million Reasons, Diamond Heart, Just Another Day, Look What I Found like sounds could go. Pop EP would be where she could write those pop songs that she slides into her albums. I'm talking about The Cure, Eh Eh, Fashion of His Love, Why Did You Do That, kind of songs. Hell, even Just Dance. This is where she could just serve pop diva. I imagine the looks very much like the Joanne World Tour. Not the country vibes, obviously, but the colors, the sparkles, the overall look of her costumes. I think this could be a way to have 4 singles peak in the top 10 on BB. It would keep people interested also, if played out right and released in the right order. Also, I think, it would help keep her streaming numbers high. She only releases 4 songs and EP, and one of them is a single that can be pushed to radio, which would keep things fresh for the GP. They would wanna come back to hear the next single/ep once its released. They could release an EP every 3 months and take advantage of the entire year. It would give her the edginess that people were excited for when she released those distorted pictures, it could keep the older audience that she has gathered since ASIB with her AC portion. It could satisfy the entire fanbase while keeping her streaming up, I think. It would give her 3 months to come up with a video concept and really put forth some great visuals as well. What do you think? Am I delulu? Or would you be here for this concept?

davflz 3,293
I like this idea (especially if the project indeed ends up being self titled and meant to be a reflection on her career). But I don't know if it would be that great marketing wise. If the album would be released like that you couldn't really track how well the project as a whole performs. I think one big traditional album still has the needed impact an album needs to be seen as monumental. If it were multiple EPs I think people might not take it that serious and think of it as less important side projects But it would be great for streaming It could be a great move and make her stand out but could also potentially negatively affect the album's success. Maybe it would be cool if she adopted that idea into one singular album and maybe had clear dividers and intros within the tracklist to convey the shifting? So what you said, about one big album with clear dividers is exactly what the end product would be. I think, if all released at once, it would kind of lose itself? Only because, each section wouldn't get a chance to shine individually. It would be an entire album released, so everyone can listen to it, tear it apart, choose their favorites, and forget about it being the parts that come together to make her Gaga, if that makes sense. The typical album cycle is a single released about once every 3 months, so that's kind of why I thought it could help keep the interest. Usually, the album doesn't even drop until the 2nd single has been released. By then, it could be made clear that it's all one big album that's been sectioned up the way it is, and that could keep the hype going maybe? I get what you mean tho, by how it would be hard to track the actual success of the album. It would all have to be put together, once it was all released, numbers wise, I suppose. In the era of streaming tho, I dunno if it would actually be that hard. Everything released could just be under the same album, and released in segments? I dunno. I guess, I feel, like at the end of the day, it could be a little risky, but if anyone could pull it off, it would be her.

If it all in the end was automatically put together into one whole album I think it could work She could even make 4 individual short-films that are each released when their EP drops. That would be so cool I'm just wondering if something like this would be eligible for AOTY for example or if she would get into controversy for kind of artificially inflating the album's success or something I think it could also run the risk of being seen as gimmicky unless marketed well. But I think you convinced me. It's something that has never been done before (at least to that extend) by a major artist and Gaga could potentially leave a big mark on music with it if the planning is good and if it has a clear vision. It would be a finished album, it wouldn't be made as she goes. It would just be released in parts. It would be a 16 track LP that was broken up into the 4 EPs. Anderson123 38,805
Meh I still feel like the whole Enigma thing is such a cliché and don’t really know how I’d feel about this. It’s been great seeing Gaga evolve as an artist but to come up with 4 EP’s and each of them have a different type of sound would be like doing the same thing she’s been doing for a decade and trying to please everyone. Right, i mentioned that she could do a visual album for each EP and that would generate some buzz. Like i stated above, it would be a finished LP that was just broken up into 4 EPs. When I said she would have 3 months to come up with visuals and what not I meant like, she has 3 months to plan the next single/video/visual album. I get what you're saying about the Grammys. I dunno. Miley's is all under She Is Miley Cyrus, but also under the specific EP names as well...who knows. In the end it's one work of art, so I think it could be. If she and her team did it right, it could be a big deal. Especially if she released good singles and visuals.

I mean, that's kind of exactly what this is. So maybe it's a little pandering, but in the end, I think it would be a great way to keep everyone happy and give the diverse material she likes to give. They also dont have to be drastically different, either. A joint theme or sound could be mixed in, per say. Also, I dont think it would feel like a rehash of her career, as much as it would just be a diverse album that showcased all of her strengths. At the end of the day, the music industry is changing because of streaming and YouTube and what not. Albums will eventually change to keep up that that. Not saying that this is the way to do that, but it could be a step in that direction. I remember when Nicki said she would tamper with some of Queen. Basically, that signifies that once a work is released, it could still be altered. Basically, albums could become similar to playlists, in a sense. To being Ariana into it, she isnt wanting to release albums at all. She is wanting to just release singles and music as she makes it, and that is another way the music industry could end up going. Who knows. For this album concept, it would have to flow and sound like an album, a cohesive work at the end of it. Which is why 1 single over a visual album would probably work better, but you could argue that each visual album was nothing more than a single. Like Ozzy and Queen, where 2 songs could be a single because they flowed into one another.

candydarling 1,836
YES OMG I LOVE IT I was just talking to my boyfriend that I thought releasing just singles a la charli or slayyter would be the future of commercial pop music, but this new miley idea to release EPs is soooo much better, and your idea that gaga could explore different styles that make her an enigma and vers artist is genius. *Id like to see that gif*
