We were all having a good time, but someone had to go too far. What makes me even more annoyed, is that other LM’s were tagging Spotify and Starbucks with stupid messages, to try and get it to go viral. I initially read you wrong.... Most of us would not have done this. One person did it and it spread with very easy retweets. Trademark infringement. Fraud. This is illegal, even a felony. Does this adult student think he can put #ShallowBucks scam on his resume for his first job out of college? That flyer illegally used the company logo without permission for a fraudulent offering. Kidding. This sh!t is f*cken embarrassing. I’m blonde, I’m skinny, I’m rich and I’m a little bit of a bitch
pedrohemg 7,802
and I don't know if your guys realized the accounts messaging Spotfy and Starbucks saying they couldn't get what the offers promised are also little monsters. The same people who created the fake offers are the ones pretending to be dissatisfied customers.
Meredith Grey 3,115
You guys it is obviously a joke. Besides, Starbucks and Spotify are multi-billion dollar companies not actual people. I understand the frustration with LM’s attacking Gaga’s team and actual people but this ain’t it. You are allowed to be a Gaga fan and make jokes relating to her. Nothing bad came out of it. Gaga got her promo, gays got some drama, people got a good laugh and a couple sites got themselves a throwaway article. Besides, the people using this to hate on Gaga already hate her and are just using a form of confirmation bias to justify their hatred.
SharkmanthaC 111,733
While it was funny it got out of hand. I don’t think anyone was supporting this behavior. At least here anyway. I didn’t see anyone supporting it. Maybe having a laugh about it, but no one is really agreeing with it. After all, we know it was fake and fraudulent. she/her/hers

If it’s “funny” or not may be a personal opinion - and I don’t think it’s humorous at all. But this can’t be ignored. LilyLark 9,965
Shallowbucks didn't actively hurt Gaga, but it still was a joke that got carried way overboard. The way it hurts Gaga is by proxy, of sort, in that it creates over-exposure. I feel like a lot of fans equate headlines, #1s, etc. with relevance, but that isn't always the case—Joanne way outsold Melodrama and Lorde barely gets any press, and yet Lorde still has a strong career. But her being in the press, even for such a dumb thing and even if only some of the press carries it, still contributes to that over-exposure. And while I doubt she's aware of this, she was probably aware of the Venom thing and found it kind of embarrassing even if it wasn't her fault. It's even worse when LM go after musical colleagues of hers, imo, like that Ed Sheeran debacle because that's less silly and more abusive. He was a douche, but going after Ed just gave him more attention, allowed him to play the victim, and was still wrong anyway. This is kind of what happened with JLaw. She was constantly on buzzfeed for like, eating a pizza, or memes her fans made and some people just got sick of seeing her name everywhere even if it was not her fault at all. And I don't want that to happen to Gaga. Anyway, I'm convinced this sort of sh*t is why she doesn't go on social media anymore or like a lot of the other pop girls. Serial Chiller 8,044
It’s funny. Stop overreacting. I don’t see how this is illegal, but I don’t know much about the law in this regard. Anyways, it’s funny because it’s creative af (until the rip bradley cooper thing that’s way beyond the line) I don’t think anyone really fell for that and I don’t think it generated any more streams than it otherwise would have without those ‘scams’. Fans and Twitter have always been messy. You can’t discredit an artist just because their fans act stupid. At least this time around we weren’t fat shaming and bullying other celebs. THAT was embarrassing. This is pretty hilarious.
GypsyBabe 22,836
I had a nice laugh because it was clearly a joke. The ad didn't even look real. I also feel as though Bobby (at least) keeps a close eye on what is happening and if it were that big of a deal then someone would have made a correction. I think it seems like way more than it is because monsters decided to message Starbucks and fake complain. People always take the joke one step too far. Also, at least twitter monsters were offering a free coffee, whereas another fanbase were offering $150 ear pods. I never would have started something like this though. ⚯͛
