They were honestly quite obviously nervous during this performance so I let the vocal issues slide. Bradley was so nervous I could taste it lmaooo

Her voice was so strong and effortless in the Grammy performance. Was she ill during the Oscars?

No it wasn't, she was strained and was pushing for most of it, as well as really pitchy at the beginning :selena:

It's sad to see so many monsters criticizing her when the rest of the world is praising. It's literally the exact opposite of what was happening in the ARTPOP era, and now y'all are wondering why she doesn't really interact with us anymore.

She didn't reach a couple of notes! omg, it's all ruined! this is career killer!

I am not unsatisfied however the Grammy performance was better and Bradley sounded like he stopped maintaining his vocals after the movie ended shooting

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

It made me thankful for the sound engineers on the movie tbh. Bradley's vocals were all over the place.

I really wish INLA got the performance instead but Oscar rules suck.

Bear in mind he also worked extensively with a vocal coach for the movie and it’s been a few years since then with, I imagine, no practice. But yes, also sound engineers.

Y'all underestimate how difficult it is to belt a b4! That's what that note is at the end of her wail. Correct me if I'm wrong.

She sang it beautifully--if you'll notice, she sounded nasal in the beginning and had a much brighter tone. She nailed the high notes when using this technique. A nice use of her head voice.

She had trouble with pitch when she began to use her full voice and used no head voice. She definitely was nervous, and over sang the wail, and her breath was off (I'm a singer, I could tell based on her breathing and the belt itself).

You should be PROUD of what she accomplished on Sunday vocally, most of the other pop girls would DIE to be able to belt like Gaga even remotely.

i wanna see how some of you would do, put up on a stage infront of hundred people, & millions of people watching worldwide. i would give anything to hear y'all belt out your souls. because obviously you guys know EXACTLY how to do anything. and while we're at it, i hope one of you gets appointed as gaga's manager. it's about time **** goes down the drain, isn't it. :madge:

People are being way too hard on the OP.

It is ok to think that this vocally was not her best. It was still an amazing and beautiful performance and you can acknowledge and think both of these things.
