BOMSHELL 2,708
The problem is not that Daenerys died or went mad. The problem is, they rushed Jon and Daenerys “love” story, they rushed her descent into a ballistic crazy woman who murders the innocents for the sake of it. They could’ve mutilated her into a 100 pieces and scatter her through King’s Landing for all I care. The keyword here, is EXECUTION. It was executed as well as an amateur fanfic. I mean do we seriously believe there were hundreds of soldiers guarding Tyrion, BUT NOT ONE GODDAMNED SOLDIER WITH THE QUEEN? You know, the one person who has a red target on her back? weed 73,867
I honestly thought maybe Jon wouldn't stab her, it seemed like Dany was genuinely loving him and wanted to share the throne with him imo... She could have just killed him already? One episode she kills 100,000 people, the next she does nothing bad and just dies.... ok. I guess a temporary madness

RahrahWitch 6,985
The ending wasn't bad necessarily I think if done right the key points could've been amazing but the season was rushed and the writers contradicted themselves over and over as well as being lazy with the writing - one huge example being they said "Dany kind of forgot about the iron fleet" when the show shows them discussing the iorn fleet 5 minutes prior. They really needed another whole season to show Dany slowly going mad, When Visarion/Reghal/Misande/Jorah all died they should have shown her throwing fits, being filled with rage, crying uncontrollably something other than staring out a window, show us her being unstable. this would have made her burning down king's landing believable and still have you somewhat be able to root for the villain because you'd understand her pain and see her slowly shift into madness. I feel like the ending was predictable and after Danys death and Drogon flying away I found myself bored.

I assumed he will be going away from this political mess as far away as possible. And suddenly in this episode he said "why do you think I travel all this way for?" Doesn't make sense. 4 hours ago, ReginaGeorge said: Dany and Sansa had good endings IMO but everyone else and everything else was awful. I honestly don’t believe you’re satisfied with Bran being the king.. i wasnt satisfied with bran being the king but what were they supposed to do? with the way they decided to go about things and make this season a cluster**** this was the ending that made sense for all the characters, it's kinda stupid but so was this season, so a perfect dumb ending to a dumb season
hausofcy 20,325
I’m kinda satisfied with the finale. Some storylines could’ve ended better. What was up with them going Columbus with arya? How could they do Jon so dirty when he basically saved the human race? Glad he got where he wanted to be but the way they did is was shameful. Sansa deserved to be queen of the seven kingdoms but i’ll take queen in the north. Also happy for tyrion, brienne and company. Dany got what she deserved in the end but it still hurt. The way drogon was pushing her really broke my heart.
Morphine Prince 106,102
I have owned the 5 books since 2014 when I bought them used in a box set on eBay for only $18 but still haven’t read them cause I felt like I didn’t have the time to fully invest. I also wanted to finish the TV show surprised with what happens. I may start reading because I’m having withdrawals.

nikola 4,342
The ending was awful... Tbh it ruins the whole show for me... Like all the build-up from last 7 seasons thrown in the water... D and D should never make any tv show/movie I've got an "F" and a "C" and I got a "K" too And the only thing that is missing is a bitch like "U"
Thomas P 18,479
. I’m not upset with the finale. I actually think they handled Dany very well this episode, especially after the mess of The Bells. I think her death was exactly what it needed to be, and I love how they finally showed the depth of Drogon’s intelligence. I think Sansa got her deserved ending as well, and even Arya got a pretty good one (I honestly think she’s the only character that has been treated well for the entirety of the season). Jon’s ending was also not disappointing. I would’ve been far more upset had he claimed the throne. Tyrion imo got a good ending as well. Bran being king could’ve been a fantastic ending if they would’ve fleshed out his character more in the last couple of seasons. overall, this could’ve been imo one of the best tv finales in history (leaving it how it is), if they would’ve had more of a build up to each individual ending. Season 7 should’ve been 10 episodes, with Arya killing the Night King as the finale, and season 8 should’ve been 10 episodes with Dany’s craziness having already been developed more last season. Im gonna give the finale an overall 7.5/10, with the season getting a 6/10. Still tv’s best show. I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill. TheMiddleGround 3,270
On 5/14/2019 at 4:58 PM, MelbHawker said: What an episode! Dany's sacking of Kings Landing (as horrifying as it was) was probably the most visually stunning episode of television I've ever seen. The music was incredible, as was the acting. Daenerys going full Mad King Aerys on Kings Landing was something I knew was coming. The first 6 seasons were about Daenerys gaining power, winning power and changing Essos. After succeeding in Essos, she moved to Westeros where she ultimately lost all her power - she was stripped of it. All her allies were killed, she lost 2 of her dragons (her 'children'), she lost all of her advisors except Tyrion and Varys, the latter of whom betrayed her, she fell in love with Jon who also betrayed her (the relation factor impacted her as well) and well.. the Westerosi hate Targaryens. Kings Landing represents the death and destruction of her family, it's what was taken away from her as a child. It has always been her reason for living and ruling. That moment where the bells rang and she realises the throne was hers was also the moment she realised that not a single soul in that city would accept and love her as their Queen, and so she proceeded to burn them all so that the ones left alive would bow to her out of complete fear. It's a gut wrenching turn for a character who we all loved and believed in. Where I think the show made an error was not fleshing out Daenerys' reactions to all her losses over the last 2 seasons (i.e. her grief, her anger.. her emotions really) and that is why there has been such criticism over how the episode and her character turned out. It also exposed Jon and Tyrion as complete fools - at one point in time, they were the wisest characters on this show and by the end of the episode, we're left frustrated that the two characters we always thought we could count on put their faith into a tyrant. Moving away from Daenerys, I really enjoyed the Hound/Arya in this episode. Every scene either character was in was a welcome change from Dany's massacre. Sandor telling Arya to stop chasing revenge was so significant for her character, it was perfection given both Arya and the Hounds story arcs. The scenes of Arya becoming one of thousands trying to survive the dragon fire were some of the best the show's done. The Mountain V The Hound delivered. It was tragic and comical all at once. Perhaps my biggest gripe with this episode was the treatment of Cersei Lannister. She's arguably Throne's greatest villain. Lena Heady is the shows best actress without a doubt, and I was waiting for her to have her moment.. it never came. She deserved the most horrible, humiliating death. It's sort of poetic that the Red Keep killed her, the 'safest place in the city', but after all the horror she's forced onto pretty much everyone in Westeros I wanted more for her. I did find it quite sad that the character's final thought was for her unborn child, though. I actually found myself feeling sorry for her in that moment, even though she was using that child for political gain in episodes prior. Jamie's character was always going to go back to Cersei, I'm baffled at why the internet was so shocked by this. Whoever wrote the character saying 'I never cared about the innocent' during that emotional conversation (which Peter Dinklage absolutely stole) needs to be whipped through the streets and locked away. He killed Aerys to save the innocent, he betrayed Cersei to fight for the innocent. It was a poor end to his character. The fight he had with Euron was a waste of time, too. Also, how did so many Dothraki survive the Battle of Winterfell? I agree with you on everything except for one thing Jamie’s main reason for killing the mad king was because he asked him for Tywin’s head.
