Valentino 4
Well you need to do your research, b. Brandy arguably revolutionized r&b back in the 90s.
craig 680
Well you need to do your research, b. Brandy arguably revolutionized r&b back in the 90s. Really? I thought R&B had been stale and stagnant for over 20 years.
Valentino 4
Really? I thought R&B had been stale and stagnant for over 20 years. Well that's what I've heard...I was like 3 at the time. But, listening to NSN and even 'I Wanna Be Down' and 'Baby' etc, you can tell those tracks are unique. Anywho, I'm saying goodnight. I think I'm coming down with something. Pray for me. :ohno:
Ozzy8923 9
BRANDY just performed her single 'Put It' Down'! AND she retweeted me! Ew. I absolute despise that song with a burning, undying passion and the video is horrendous. Let's just say this song reminds me of why I don't like R&B and why I genuinely hope that it never makes a resurgence on the charts. It's just that this songs is unbearably repetitive and I can't see anyone outside of Brandy's minimal to nonexistent fan base buying it (That includes You, Valentino ). I speak the truth. Glad this genre has been dead for the past 5-6 years. Refreshing. Pop >>>>>>. I'm genuinely happy that I was a child back in the early 2000's because I don't think I would of been able to bear what was on the radio because of my open dislike for R&B. Yeeeeah except what Brandy is singing? Not real R&B. Comments like these about R&B annoy me because the R&B we are hearing now is not the real deal. It's been severely watered down and turned into pure crap. I have a feeling that you don't know what the real genre sounds like but not really surprised considering what forum I'm on. Echo 326
R&B slayed basic b---hes for awhile so its dance music to slay in the U.S and then die off faster than Rock. :giggle:
Ozzy8923 9
But, let's help Arturo here educate himself on a bit of Brandy. Brandy's debut record. (1994) Peak: #20. US Sales: 2,100,000. WW Sales: 6,000,000. Same as Born This Way. Peak: #2. (1998) US Sales: 4,600,000. WW Sales: 15,000,000. This album made her more of a household name. Among from the success of this record, she was a principal actress in hit UPN show Moesha that ran from 1996-2001. Peak: #2. (2001) US Sales: 1,100,000. WW Sales: 2,000,000 AT MOST. Afrodisiac. (2004) Peak: #3. US Sales: 417,000. WW Sales: 1,000,000 AT MOST. Peak: #15. (2008) US Sales: ~ 100,000. WW Sales: It failed to chart in most major music markets outside of the United States, if it reached 200K WW, I'd be surprised. A statement she made during a 2010 interview with Out magazine turned out more harsh: "To hell with that album!". She will be releasing her sixth Studio album Two Eleven on October 16, 2012. Well, I'm willing to learn. SHOW ME WHAT REAL R&B IS Ms. Clair Voyant!! I am your pupil. :worship2:

boysboysboys 278
I quite like Demi! :) Personality-wise, Demi >>> Mariah and Britney. However, I must say her voice and music are doing nothing for me. Basic.

You seem real mad about that song and its video. As far as thinking the song is unbearably repetitive, the Pop songs nowadays really aren't much better. And ****, dude, hate all you want, but selling hundreds of thousands of albums is still a success in my eyes. When's the last time you did something thousands of people wanted for themselves?
