I thought super bass went no. 1 :udidnt:

Anyways I love cardi and wish her success but Nicki career was no less of iconic, each of those singles were worldwide smashes

Give your love to me

Nope, apparently she's never had a #1, I was surprised too when I heard. Makes sense though, her insecurity over it is obvious.

I can't be free if my hands are tied... 🧟‍♀️👰🏻

Honestly, let's not even kid ourselves. Nicki's debut era singles would've charted much higher (even if not for too long), had streaming units been counted by Billboard at the time. Whether you like her or not, her presence in 2010-2011 was massive.

I'm not hating on Cardi though, I love both. But the streaming era really helped accelerate her career at a very fast pace compared to Nicki's.

I have to respectfully disagree, Adele, Gaga, Kesha, Katy, Britney and Rihanna were doing way better at the time. They blocked Nicki from being one of the top girls. All those girls had multiple top 10 hits from their albums at the time and Nicki just had Super Bass. But Nicki was def at a disadvantage because she was a rapper and the music climate did not favor rap at the time. So if Nicki came out in 2018, she prob would've done better. But not in 2010/2011, streaming or not

Thank you. You can't really compare 2010 to 2018 at all...

While they did block Nicki she stayed very relevant during her first years due to collaborations.
