Honestly I was so worried people would drag Gaga to hell just for the fact she is Lady Gaga.

But now I'm so relieved & VERY proud of our girl! She really is one of the greatest talents of this world and she's finally being acknowledged for this.

I haven't seen evidence of that, but I'm not looking for negativity.

Why can't people just be happy and enjoy good things

Don't worry too much though! Even if everything goes wrong, we'd still have the Golden Globes and a Original Song nomination on lock.

Plus I trust Warner and their PR team. We have Sue Kroll on our side

Well, but that's the exception, not the rule. I'm not saying that Gaga will never get any other future career opportunities (pertaining to movies) if ASIB doesn't knock it out of the park, but in that case, she'll be an exception. Yeah, there are some actors/actress/directors that don't do well at the box office, but are still great at what they do and are still wanted by many, but that isn't the majority.

Movie companies focus on the box office (as well as critic reception, but mainly the box office). After all, you could be the best director, or actor, or actress in the world, but if your movie makes $12 at the box office, it's just not worth it for the companies.

A good point was made.  The movie business, like the music business, depends on making a profit.  Many people's livelihoods are at stake for each movie or album.

I’m perfectly ok with Gaga choosing to work small independent pictures with directors she trusts.  As she said it’s all about the project for her, she doesn’t have to chase big money projects. Small projects are much more likely to care about fit for the project than box office potential.

Me having memorized Gaga's '100 people don't believe in you' speech and lip syncing every time she gives an interview

Remember when she said "I'm Italian" at every interview?  :)  The good old days.

I can't believe that just a while ago we were trying to compete with Katy Perrys and Rihannas, not realizing the true potential of our girl. I would rather have her be like this, a pop icon and an acting force, than having #1 songs on BB Hot 100.
