question

Are Gaga's hits more iconic than her contemporaries' hits?

I feel like Gaga's biggest hits - Poker Face, Bad Romance, Born This Way (even Paparazzi and Telephone to some extent) - are in general more well-remembered around the world than her contemporaries hits (excluding Britney and Beyonce).

Like the only "iconic" Rihanna song I can personally name is Umbrella. Katy doesn't seem to have a single "iconic" hit. It's hard to name Taylor Swift's well-remembered songs as well.

Do you agree with me?

Hope I'm not confusing y'all with this thread :messga:

I Kissed a Girl - maybe, but it's pretty much forgotten in my opinion.

California Gurls was super successful at the time, but I don't feel like it had a global impact on the level of Poker Face and Bad Romance.

they were super successful in terms of sales and were played everywhere, I agree, but do they stand a chance against Bad Romance?

Like everyone knows Bad Romance (they at least remember "rah-rah" part) and that it is by Lady Gaga because of the unique sound and imagery, but would a random person in a distant country know who sings Diamonds or Work? :trollga:

That's what I'm talking about :bon:

I Kissed a Girl / Hot n' Cold are pretty popular Worldwide and I can still hear them in many radio stations.

About Rihanna: 'Umbrella', 'Don't Stop The Music' and even 'We Found Love' are very recognisible to this day.

There's always at least one hit which comes to my mind thinking about other pop artists.

We often don't see it as Little Monsters but when you ask other people about some examples of different popstars hits,  they will give it to you in 2 seconds.

lol katy does have iconic singles a well

name one Katy or Rihanna song that a middle-aged (40-50 years old) person, say, from Russia would be able to name instantly who it is sung by.

while Bad Romance or even Poker Face are way better remembered and recognizable if you compare songs this way. most people of almost all ages from around the world know that Bad Romance is a Lady Gaga song.

Yeah, some of Gaga's hits are more known than what the charts are saying for example Judas might have been kinda a "flop" but this is a really known song, Alejandro is actually way much better known than what the charts are saying and etc
