Let's pretend that The Edge Of Glory was released instead of Judas as the 2nd single, and Judas is released during summer as the 3rd single. Don't you think the controversy would have been much smaller? Would it have done better (especially in the US, where it lowkey got banned by radio)?

Also vote who do you like more, Judas or Venus? I personally think Judas' is better produced but Venus is overall a more original song and I love it!

Judas is not a hit and would not be a hit regardless of timing, unless it was released back in 2009. I also don't think there was some huge controversy, it's monsters blowing things out of proportions again, sure it was reported here and there but at the end of the day, the song was just not the tea for the gp. Also, Venus is better.

Judas is a bop, but not a top hit due to it's controversial theme. I love it tho. I think either MTN or TEOG should have been the second single followed by Scheisse or BM as the 3rd single

Judas is the best Gaga's song hands down.

Venus is the second best Gaga's song hands down.

Judas was a big mistake from her team :vegas:

The music video of btw has broken her image but Judas killed it for the GP

She was seen like a demon or something like that :wtfga:

I think the BTW singles should have been:

BTW

TEOG

MTN

Y&I

Hair

My issue with judas is not that it’s not a hit but because it was misplaced and shouldve been the 5th single just because the controversy imo actually helped it so if it were the 5th then the other singles wouldnt have to be affected the way they were. Also if it were to flop then ok because it wouldnt have to affect Gaga’s GP appeal

that would have worked...but(t) Hair is a bit too similar to BTW in regards to it's theme...I think it be best if the single would have different themes:

TEOG

MTN

Scheisse

Yeah whenever I thought about the last single it was between Scheiße and Hair. I put Hair tho cause I've got better reaction to it by GP friends compared to Scheiße. People really don't like the gibberish intro

Easter was not the reason Judas flopped. Its just the excuse LMs use to hide the fact that the public didn't respond well to it. There was no big controversy, and the only audiences anything to do with this would have been people who never listened to Gaga in the first place.. It didn't get "banned on radio" - that's so dramatic and never happened.

Before I go any further, let me just say, I LOVE Judas. It's one of my favourite songs. But it's not radio friendly and wasn't new/fresh. I've said this multiple times but the song is a recycled Bad Romance/Poker Face.

Whoah whoah whoah... I'm in love with Judas
Whoahowahh.. Caught in a Bad Romance (BR)

Judas, Jud-ahh, Judas Gaga
Rah rah ah ah ah, Gaga oo La la (BR)

When he comes to me I am ready
I wanna hold em like they do in Texas please (PF)

Whoahwoah..I'll bring him down bring him down down
Oh, oh oh oh oh. I'll get him hot show him what I've got (PF)

I'm just a holy fool, oh baby it's so cruel, but I'm still in love with Judas baby
I want your love and I want your revenge, you and me could write a Bad Romance (BR)

In the most biblical sense, I am beyond repetence..
I won't tell you that I love you kiss or hug you.. (PF)/Walk walk fashion baby (BR)

I wanna love you, but something's holding me away from you
I want your love, and I want your revenge, I want your love, I don't wanna be friends (BR)

For all the BTW stans still wondering why Scheisse was never released as a single, this is clearly the same reason! It's literally a replica of Bad Romance.

I think its okay to say that a Gaga song didn't do well and be fine with that. Of course Judas makes this a bit harder to swallow after a string of massive hits.. but it was Gaga's first manufactured song and it didn't work.

My thoughts exactly. I LOVE Judas and its MV, but the song is just too similar to Bad Romance, and I believe even Gaga stated so.
