the party life and the fame --> flat,550x550,075,f.jpg

:duck:

and isn't Summerboy just about her chillin with her boyfriend during the summer? :duck:

Famous people are known for parties, and Just Dance connects the rich people's love for party life with anyone's love for party life, which is the point of The Fame: to feel famous.

this is the state of grace, this is the worthwhile fight

but the point wasn't literally "feeling famous" but feeling confident in ones self and actual fame being irrelevant to that. you dont have to be famous to be recognizable or have swagger. you just need confidence.

the fillers in her albums and the fillers in her face are both beautiful, great, and deserving of some appreciation tbh.

Electric chapel is amazing and so is bad kids even though 85% of the lyrics are cringe

Bad Kids production wise and melodically/vocally is on point. But the lyrics and intent are cringeworthy af unfortunately. So I still like it and sometimes listen to it but I listen to it and try to block out how dumb I think it actually is.

Electric Chapel however is not at all lyrically cringe imo. Its kind of clever and cute and unassuming albeit slightly too long.

I think the song is easier to digest if you picture a young teen saying the lyrics. The intent is similar to the one in Hair, which a lot people also think is cringey, but is meant to show the naivety of youth and how vulnerable we can be to what society wants us to be. Even though it can be cheesy, I still think we all came across a time in our lives where we could relate to the character Gaga is channelling in both of those songs.

I understand the intent of both tracks but I don't agree with them and I dont find them as endearing as I think they were intended to be. I can appreciate the production/melodies/vocals but the lyrical content and intent is just like cringeworthy regardless. Its silly in a bad way imo. To me when anyone refers to how her ego affected the quality in regards to Born This Way the album I think these are the kinds of tracks that most represent that criticism. Her trying to relate to a 12 year old and assume their problems and to do it in such a silly way with petty issues is just like....why even go in that direction to me idk.

I've never been a fan of the fillers. But if I had to pick I'd say bad romance, and the edge of glory. Oh and poker face is kinda good I guess.

I think that criticism does stick to Bad Kids but I still can't see it in Hair. I think the latter song comes from a more genuine place because she did talk about being bullied at a young age for her looks and aspirations and so I do see a 14 yo Stefani wanting to express herself and then getting condemned for it by her parents and her peers. The idea that the song comes from an authentic place is redemptive for me. But your opinion is interesting nonetheless.
