I guess Interscope doesn't believe in discounting - you never see them doing it for Gaga or for artists a hair from getting #1. You see discounts more in the UK.

Also, EMI companies (like Capitol) do it for artists beside Katy. For example, Coldplay was discounted to get #1 UK.around last Xmas.

I didn't know that!

No wonder Mylo Xyloto sold that much, despite the reviews.

haha :hug::fan:

But what if it does go #1? :ohno:

Whatever, Tino, let's let the b---h have her day. :adam:

I was referring to the single Paradise:

"Paradise" became a top 5 hit in sixteen countries. In the United States it peaked at number fifteen on the Billboard Hot 100.

Following the release on 12 September 2011, "Paradise" was revealed chart ineligible in the United Kingdom, having been offered as an "instant grat" (immediate download) for anyone who pre-ordered the album, Mylo Xyloto. The release of the album on 24 October 2011 saw "Paradise" debut at number fourteen on the UK Singles Chart with sales of 27,277 copies (the track had a total of 118,547 downloads in the six weeks of chart ineligibility). After being made purchasable at 59p (instead of 99p) on the UK's iTunes Store and being played on the X Factor final, "Paradise" regained momentum in the UK and climbed up to number two on 18 December 2011. On 1 January 2012, almost four months after its release, "Paradise" peaked at number one becoming the first number-one single of 2012 in the UK.

Magoo - I really hope you're right... I haven't stressed this much over a songs chart position since MTN :( Ellie deserves it so much over that greedy girl.

Lol, okay. Do clarify.

Actually, Mylo Xyloto was discounted to .25 cents one week and Billboard counted it :toofunny:

Va Va Voom isn't out yet....

Is Va coming out? I'd so be down for that, it's an instant standout when it comes to her pop tracks. But it doesn't fit the trend she's trying to ride, so I guess maybe that's why it wasn't released. :ohno:

Va Va Voom isn't out yet....

She's already facing dropping album sales/a sagging era, so VVV is gonna have a lot less momentum versus what it couldve had

I just read this on Wikipedia.

"On May 24, 2012; A poll was posted on Minaj's official website asking the fans to choose the next single(s). The poll is divided into three categories. The third and final category asks to choose between "Pound The Alarm", "Whip It", and "Va Va Voom". "Va Va Voom" had the most votes and won the poll. "Whip It" came in second and "Pound the Alarm" came in third.[1] However Minaj ignored the results and decided to go with "Pound the Alarm" due to the amount of radio requests it's getting in the UK, France, and Australia."

What

Why do artist's even do that if they're going to ignore the fans' single choices.

Gaga did it.

Now Nicki.

Who else?

Gaga had no choice...interscope chose the singles. She even said on littlemonsters.com

That she tried to get scheisse as a single but it didn't go as planned.

PTA has a chance. And VVV is like a for sure.

I guess artist's can't control there singles... they shouldn't do polls.

If Starships can't go #1 then PTA won't

VVV is a whole different story. We'll see how that one goes
