Did Lana Del Rey diss Gaga?

I vaguely remember something about Lana denying this song was about Gaga, but I find it difficult not to believe it actually is.

Any of you who were around in 2013 might remember it when it first leaked. :triggered:

Anyone got the receipts? For the record, I love Lana.

I mean.. she specifically identifies "Stefani" in the song and identifies different accomplishments of Gagas.

But i could be wrong.

Like I said, I'm pretty sure Lana at least tried to deny it, but it was years ago. :triggered:

Yeah, i think the song was created when they were both early in their careers. Both are now massively successful.

Pre-legitimacy, Lana Del Reymade this really legit song called "So Legit" where she legit dissed the then-already legitimate Stefani Germanotta. Later she called the pretty legit rumors super illegitimate.

Now that's legit.

There are only two famous Stefani's in the business, one is Gwen Stefani and the other is gaga. Pretty obvious shade to gaga.

Sounds shady to me. It mentions both 'Gaga' and 'Stefani'.

btw, even as a demo this song sounds honestly terrible. Like the rhythm and melody and the way the words fit and the lyrics and the way they are sung are all terrible. See what happens when you put your energy into something like this? Makes you look like a fool.

It is shady and definitely not the type of song that should have been made public, but... I listen to it kind of regularly :selena: I actually love how it sounds :selena: Don't kill me :selena:

She did diss Gaga, but this happened so long ago, and now they are close

They also had like a sleepover with Lindsay Lohan

Yeah, it seems obvious the song is about Gaga, but I think they're cool now. Didn't Lana go see Gaga at Coachella?

I love both of them, legends.

And when you say my name, like white horses on the waves, I think it feels the same, as an ocean in my veins.

Yes, it's about Gaga, though I'm sure Lana would never admit to that now and obviously things have changed.

Allegedly, she and Gaga had been working with some of the same people when this was written (around 2008/2009) and they stopped focusing on her because Gaga made it big.

So, basically she made this song because she felt like what she was doing was more "genuine" than what Gaga was doing and she was bitter about her being successful.

a demo is just a basic idea laid down, it's not supposed to be polished :toofunny: As if Gaga's demos were good, have you heard her vocals on the applause or monster demos?

OT: the song is not about gaga. Lana has explicitly  stated this, people just love to make up controversy for headlines.
