Since day 1 when I heard to cut throw all his worn out leather I assumed Taylor immediately

Also Perfect Illusion whether she deny it or not ( I believe it's mostly about her life and fake fans ) but it's obvious that Taylor is included throw her emotions in the song and he's a part of the Perfect illusion.

I think it would be naive to assume that most of the heartbroken songs on the album aren't about him. Ending a longterm serious relationship is hard. Ending a relationship to the man you thought you were going to marry and live the rest of your life with is even harder. There's a strand of psychology that studied the effects of breakups on the psyche, and they found that you literally go through the stages of grief and mourning after ending a relationship like that. Your body and mind process the loss of your relationship the way you process a death--you lost someone you loved, even if it wasn't a literal death. That kind of grief is all consuming for a long while. That's something that would certainly permeate her music on multiple levels.

I've always looked at it as a tribute to her little monsters. Old managers, ex boyfriends, old friends, etc gave her a million reasons to just quit and say "screw it" but it's her little monsters that are the reason she stays ♥️ By quitting, she realized that would mean abandoning us and that would be a pain she couldn't bear. To her, a life without her monsters would be the worst pain imaginable. We're bound for life ♥️

I love you monsters. I'd be unfixably broken without you
