What if she planned to write about Vampires and Blood etc... And then he came and said that and Joanne happened to be on her mind on that time and that changed it all for ever and now we're never gonna get that original LG5? :cryga:

you guys are missing the point. shes always written about what she wants to write about, but she had to fight for it. Ronson was the only one who actually wanted to give her the first say in her own music and let her do what she wanted first.

this seems odd to me because for almost the entirety of her career she has stood up for making songs about things that SHE wants to speak on. so i don't really understand the whole "wow she's never written a song about what SHE wants to talk about!!!1' because that's completely untrue :toofunny:

The thing you have to remember is, up until 'Joanne', Gaga had mostly been working with producers who specialized in electronic dance music. I doubt they're the kind of guys who are going to sit down in a field and start writing an album with nothing but a guitar. The majority of them probably weren't interested in what the songs were about (lyrically speaking), because dance music is more about energy and adrenaline and a dope beat. It's really no surprise that they just let Gaga write whatever the hell she wanted to write and didn't get too involved with the lyrics. I certainly don't think Mark or Gaga were implying that she had been restrained from writing her true feelings in her music before 'Joanne'.

I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

the scrapped RedOne songs were all about "I'll just give them another Just Dance" but Mark was the one that asked her what she REALLY wanted to write about

another Just Dance felt superficial to her at least in 2017 when she just couldn't ignore the things in Joanne

holy scheisse

I could see how nobody asked her that before.

He said they should write about how she felt in the moment, not about what topics she was interested in. And Gaga's previous works weren't as emotionally charged as Joanne was so I can see how she was writing more from a conceptual rather than feeling perspective before.

Give me those emotions that I love :madge:
