Flying to the moon again

dreaming about heroin

 how it gave you everything

and took your life away.

Getting on that aeroplane

destined for a foreign land

I hoped that you'd come back again

to tell me everythings okay...

+1 Lana writes tragic ****

I like both lyrics and both are very talented so I don't like to choose between them but you need to understand that the age difference has it's impact on the lyrics.

Lorde's lyrics are very "teenager" type, something that many of us wrote when we had our lyrics writing period.. it's very poetic and dramatic and a bit "smartass"...

Lana's lyrics on the other hand are more mature and more like a story telling, like a lullaby..

But the most important is that each of them has their own trademark lyrics, like you could easily say who wrote what, which is something rare with pop music these days..

Come on and wrap that blade of grass around my hairy ass

Easily lorde. I love both, but lanas lyrics--especially on lust for life--are quite bad. Melodrama is lyrically masterful.

A lot of Lana's lyrics are about a sugar daddy roughing her up and how much she enjoys it.  Lorde's lyrics are about youth, heartbreak, coming of age, and a great party BUT they are written to fashionably with supercharged wit.  I still enjoy Lana's music though.

mess wow i can appreciate a stereotype when it's used in a joke but it's completely ridiculous to use it in a comparison like this :rip: someone clearly hasn't heard much of lana's music

mess at people using random lyrics as arguments. lemme make a thread saying gaga writes awful lyrics by only giving "loving you is cherry pie" as example and see the amount of excuse me no's i'll get :lana:

lorde is by far the better lyricist (liability is truly a masterpiece)

lana is by far the better songwriter (she knows how to write beautiful songs amd her melodies are breathtaking)

I think lorde just says weird things in her songs and has uncommon words...therefore confusing people and making them think she's a deep writer. When in actuality, she's just using strange words. Lana takes the cake

There's one lyric in Coachella that truthfully shits all over Lorde's lyrics:

Maybe my contribution could be as small as hoping that words could turn to birds and birds would send my thoughts your way.

Coachella is so underrated :diane:

Lana is the better lyricist imo, even tho I really enjoy the way Lorde writes, it's refreshing :diane:

Lol

L4L may lack a lot of things, but good lyrics isn't one of them.

Hunny, it's a double entrendre. Gaga is allergic to cherries meaning that he's toxic for her and cherry pies are easy to make/eat.
