AmberARTPOP 118
I'm ok, and my house did not have any damage other than my mailbox blowing over! My girlfriend is also ok, but I have no idea what happened in her neighborhood, as she has no service and the only way I found out was through her friend texting me. RAYA.core 828
What a crazy weekend. I work with a Government office and it hurts to know some of the local offices in the southern counties are closed indefinitely. Where are these workers going to go, transfer to another county? Will they still be able to obtain their same positions. It has been such an eerie week at work. I'm making sure people have resources to what they need and to respond to urgent cases due to hospitals. We are all so lucky and brave to embrace for what highlights came before the storm from other countries. Headlines on News Media had adjectives that were terrifying like, "nuclear hurricane." Social media stirring up people's emotions with new MEMEs. I saw one friend on there that was terrified of loosing his fan collection of items instead of spending time with his family. Since the last impacted Hurricane, 30 million more non Floridians (I believe I had heard someone don't quote me) had decided to make this state their home. This reaction had definitely been different to ones in the past. Born and raised in Florida and after dealing with Irma really made me take a second look of, "If I want to live here anymore..." Not because of the weather but of what much more life I have to live and panic like be able to be with friends in a close proximity (city life) and not worrying about driving to them thru moments and holidays.
