I think his star might be fading. His lead singles ALWAYS do well, but Say Nothing didn't do well at all

Well when we say ALWAYS only 1 of his lead singles got #1, I don't mind if his star is fading as it may mean cheaper concert tickets :D

Yeah but Say Nothing had zero longevity, which is shocking considering it was hammered on the music channels and had big radio support. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens with Close Enemies :fat:

Honestly, his attitude doesn't do him ANY favours whatsoever. He made the front page of Wigan's local newspaper (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a436349/example-insults-entire-town-of-wigan-receives-death-threats.html) because he basically insulted everybody who comes from there :smh:

I love his attitude, that paper took it a bit far as all he said was 'Twitter should make a block button for the whole of Wigan' then he followed it up by 'I'm sure there are good people in Wigan, but I've received loads of death threats from people in Wigan' making the front cover of the paper made me laugh!

I see what you are saying about Say Nothing though, the song seems pretty medi core compared to the preview of the rest of the album, he should have released Perfect Replacement as the lead single

Wow, Beneath Your Beautiful is really holding its own. At this rate, it could rule next week as well. Skyfall's had quite a boost because of the film's release, but I can't help thinking that maybe it could have gone to #1 if it had been released a bit later, to coincide with the film's release: it just seemed to be released far too early. Surprised to see The Wanted and Rita falling, which really goes to show how fickle the UK can be and how odd that huge promotional opportunities can't get a song to #1 but a #1 debut with no promotion is easy. And Christina just keeps falling and falling. That woman just can't catch a break.

I'm going to be really interested to see how OD and LM perform with their new singles next week. I think it's bizarre that two of the biggest XF acts right now were scheduled for the same show because that way, only one of them would stand a chance of #1. Considering that only one XF act has had a #1 this year and XF #1's in general are getting thin on the ground these days, I felt sure they'd be on different nights. Putting OD on tonight was certainly a biased move on Simon's part to give them a head start but seeing as their song's their first ever ballad (and a really cheesy one at that), it might not do as well as their more upbeat singles. LM's song is amazing and I really hope they beat OD in this battle, even if it's not a #1. No need to worry about Ed - he's never even had a #1 and will likely to performing Small Bump, which didn't go anywhere in the charts.

Jase, looked like you was right about Example flopping!

Even I wasn't expecting him to flop THIS bad

Born To Die has been a great seller this year. Will The Paradise Edition add to the sales?

it sure will :)

What kind of political BS is it that Rihanna and Gaga won 0 EMAs, but Swift and Bieber are big winner?

http://www.billboard...008010192.story

First comment: who chose these winners? Sorry but Swift and Bieber are most definitely not huge in europe in terms of sales or hits. Neither have had more than a couple of decent hits in europe and their albums sink very fast after release. Meanwhile Rihanna is absolutely HUGE all over europe and has hit after hit with ease. And great album sales. So this is just utter nonsense and clearly fixed to promote certain big record company acts. Can I say payola? what a joke but Europe mtv has always just been about promoting big US acts in europe so no surprise :/

Rihanna won Best North American act, so I don't know why everyone's saying that she won nothing. But yes, it was weird that even with 8 nominations, she only got one. However, Rihanna's only ever won 2 EMAs previously, so I don't think it's exactly unusual for her to be snubbed somewhat. After all, Europe doesn't choose the nominees, the EMA committee do, and maybe they don't like Rihanna all that much or Rihanna's European fans just don't bother voting. You'd think with all the hit singles Rihanna has that she has the kind of fans who'd vote for anything she's nominated for, but she doesn't have a history of winning big at fan-voted awards. Her fans love her catchy singles, but that doesn't mean they'd support her to the point of obsessively voting for her in online polls. Justin's fans win in that area as he has a legion of insane teenyboppers who'd do anything for him. But yeah, it is weird to see Justin and Taylor win all those awards when they have never done well in Europe. The second biggest shocker for me (after the Biggest Fans award) was Taylor winning Best Live - Muse are normally the winners in this category, or any rock band, really. I really am not liking this recent trend of artists who can't sing getting awards for their non-existant vocal ability. That's why, whenever Gaga gets nominated in this category, we vote like crazy because this award is the one where Gaga always gets snubbed the hardest. She is such an under-rated live performer. She has been nominated for Best Live three times previously at the EMAs and has never won. I don't think she's ever won a Best Live award from any award ceremony actually, which is a damn shame.

At the end of the day, everyone could vote, not just Europeans. It was likely that everyone voted worldwide and that's why we have the results we do. Mind you, I have serious suspicions that the awards given to Taylor and One Direction were bought.
