Jezebel accuses Gaga of lip syncing

There are a few instances of her lip syncing, but for the overwhelming majority of the time she actually sings though she does sometimes have a loud backtrack. It's easy to tell when an artist if lipsyncing, and I don't think I've ever seen her really do it.

So you're saying that if she just took a breath there wouldn't be a difference in the audio? There is no difference with the studio version of the song.

What ? As I said it's the backing tracks, if she doesn't produce any sound there's no difference with the studio version.

And how do you know that they couldn't hear her in the arena? 

I remember this specific discussion during the artRAVE. During the live show, you could hear Gaga singing the lower harmony parts. If she is singing, she isn't lip syncing.

Awww, did Gaga hit a nerve with you. Does one of your faves lip sync, are you looking for a way to justify that? 

Let me help you out. They lip sync. If they are doing it just to cover up their **** vocal ability, that's pretty sad...but it's your money. 

Stop coming for Gaga for something she doesn't do, just because your faves are guilty of doing it.

the first one she is doing the choreography (and its obvious she isn't meant to sing that part while dancing)

the second one is WAY TOO OBVIOUS that she is singing w/ backup on just the chorus

People assume lip syncing is done to trick the public into thinking you are singing something you really couldn't sing well.  It's a negative connotation implying the singer is fraudulently faking it.  People think lip syncing is done by singers who can't sing live.  This is not Gaga at all.  Gaga could slay the notes she is accused of lip syncing.  That is why it is unfair to apply the term lip syncing to Gaga.  She is not disingenuous, and she would not be sneaky and try to pull one over on the public.   You might say that it is not the technical definition of lip syncing, but the public usage of the term matters and that can hurt the reputation of a singer.

I think people confuse a backing track with lip syncing.

Lady Gaga doesn't lip sync. Its as simple as that. She has bad choreo that jacks up her singing sometimes. But she doesn't pretend to be singing when she isn't.
