I thought that was a clear theme for the movie to follow and a nice twist on the preceding ASIB stuff for a modern audience. But then all the pop stuff just kinda threw that hope out the window for me. It does just really seem all over the place, and I hate the idea that Gaga could be seen as just playing a different version of herself - which looks feasible, judging by the leaked iHeartRadio stuff & the orange wig. "Country" Ally looked totally different from the Gaga that we know. Obviously the story goes that she gets famous so a change is natural, but I'm not here for all the pop stuff. That's the kinda thing that will date easily. Idk. We have only seen extremely little from the film, so this speculation could very well be totally pointless. But it is indeed very confusing so far.
