She's done absolutely no promo for the next 2nd and 3rd single.

I am not saying she is a bad singer! I am just saying that her songs did not do as well as taylor's songies

Mariah managed to pull through because of her then massive fanbase. Loverboy hit #2 just on sales alone.

Yes.  25 cent cassette and cd single sales. :giggle:

OT: Loverboy is one of my favorite Mariah tracks.

Adele stomps on everything and anything Taylor(and all of the others pop girls) released in recent years commercial wise even if her unpromoted singles didn't do as good as Taylor's.

adele flopped miserably after Hello

Adele was busy selling millions of albums...in every corner of the world. If Adele "flopped", then Taylor didn't even show up to the party.

Yeah, Troy must have deep radio ties

No, Jimmy Iovine did. Plus, the KIA commercial was a big plus!

So this isn't exactly an interesting anecdote, but on Saturday I heard "The Cure" for the VERY FIRST TIME on the radio here in Dallas. I was shocked because they have never once played it, not even when it was doing really well in streams and on iTunes, so I assumed it would definitely never play now that its success appears to be winding down.

But anyway, I was ridiculously excited and knew this was the only place I could potentially receive any positive feedback regarding my excitement  (When it came on, I turned the car radio to maximum volume, while also singing along at maximum volume, and my boyfriend was less than pleased).

Hmm, that's true. She lost both around the same time.

It's truly amazing how different her career was with perfect management and label assistance. Bobby is good for the most part, but he's just not perfect like Troy was. Troy built her from nothing to being on top of the world; Bobby is just keep her afloat.

She didn't really lose Jimmy, he left Interscope. He was three fourths out the door by the time ARTPOP was being marketed and released.

Troy didn't build Gaga, he worked for her. He was a good business man and that was all. Bobby has helped her rebuild her career from a man that used her up and kicked her to the side. Bobby is one of the reasons why Gaga is still around giving you music and another tour.

I am glad that Gaga and Troy ended their partnership because he played a major role in her "destruction" and maybe at this point she would have fully quit her music career. Bobby was one of the reasons who really helped her to bring the joy and fun back to continue with music. I am not sure if we could say the same thing about Troy.

I think they were that bad when Gaga even considered to quit music. Bobby and Tony (and many others) really helped her to get through this.

Wasn't it 49 cents though? Not that much cheaper than today's singles. I can't believe it was the best selling single of 2001 in the US 😭
