Having a trendy song is not enough if it's not good :)

Good music doesn't smash nowadays though. Is Work by Rihanna better?

That is not necessarily playing to nostalgia though. Specially not 25. Nostalgia only really works after decades of something being old. Not a few years.

TF 10 years in 2018

Just look at 1989 , 25, it's just basic pop music

So incorrect it hurts my eyes.. 1989 AND 25 are way more than "basic pop music",They have strong melodies, great production, great lyrics and really good vocals. They are pop albums but they are excellent. This is something most artists can't achieve

And Closer?

Why didn't any of Bjork songs smash then?

Nostalgia doesn't work with music. You rarely top your past work by repeating the same formula.

When will Gaga's wound with the GP be cured? She did C2C, SOMT, proved herself as a talent, starred in AHS, got herself out there, released a trendy song, performed at the SuperBowl. When will it be enough?

Closer is not really a good song but it still be better for its genre than the mediocre The Cure.If it wasn't a Gaga single you would all be trashing the **** out of the song.

Also the second question is so off topic? :rip: Bjork doesn't have commercial success because her music is too innovative, weird and complicated for the general public and because she doesn't really try to have commercial success.

Ok, I've noticed you on here before, and you are obviously an obsessed Gaga hater.

Whispering

The Cure would be top 10 if it was her debut single...which would be supported by an upcoming album, SNL, an Award's show, a video, a radio deal, etc.

Instead, TC is a stand alone song (without a collab to prop it up or help it crossover to other formats) without promo or a video. Comparisons of this song thrown out to radios as an afterthought to a properly promoted album single...doesn't make much sense.

Or maybe you can't accept a negative opinion about Gaga :rip: I actually really love and appreciate Gaga,I just like to be objective and not pretend like something is good just because it's hers.

Sis that was all about US and most of it was about getting critical acclaim.

+Today's music is all about streaming. We 've said zillions of times that charts don't represent sales anymore. What we need to do is create some pressure to change the metrics that clearly work in favor of teen antics. Then ageism will stop and everyone will get a fair shot like back in the day. I do not think it's Gaga's fault except for the non existent/wrong promo.

I would love TC even if it would be a Beyoncé single...

I also would hate BA if it's not from KP because it's just a bad song
