Panchecco 17,754 Posted April 6, 2017 Share Posted April 6, 2017 I just finished re-watching the Monster Ball Tour DVD and everytime it's like the first one, such an amazing show with amazing visuals/theatrics, costumes and storyline While re-watching it I noticed that Gaga included references to some of her iconic looks and some of her amazing performances throughout the whole show. In fact she recreated/paid omage to the 2009 Much Music Awards performance (the subway train, the Poker Face dance breakdown and the pyro-bra - which she also had in the Bad Romance mv), the 2009 Video Music Awards performance (the blood on her stomach during Monster), and the 2011 Grammy Awards (same outfits + same piano). She also reutilized the 2010 Grammys headpiece (in purple for Beautiful, Dirty, Rich), the transparent plastic dress from the Telephone video (during LoveGame), the idea of the Orbit Dress (she used it for Bad Romance mv and SNL and at the MBT she actually stands inside a giant orbit for Bad Romance) and the iconic Mugler-inspired "diamond dress" she used to wear during The Fame Era (in green for Paparazzi) She has never done something like that for her other tours except probably during The Fame Ball and BTWB when she recreated the cover of the albums (by using the disco stick and the crystal glasses and by becoming the motorcycle live on stage) + she used similar plastic outfits for the BTW performance at the Grammys Would you be here for the Joanne World Tour to be "inspired" by the Monster Ball Tour? Would you like to see some of her iconic looks/performances being recreated for the tour? Which looks/performances would you like to see? I would love something like the 2016 AMA performance (with the grass and the led flowers) and of course I would die to see something from the Super Bowl as well (the jump maybe ) and I think it would also be nice to see the Intel's face projections used for the Bowie Tribute. As far as looks I just hope she kept the white winged jacked from the VS Fashion Show because it looked amazing and I would love to see it on tour (maybe replacing the Versace golden wings for ARTPOP ??) Like she even said it herself that when it came time to rehearse for the SB she was "ready to be a popstar again" and I think after the SB halftime got such a good reception and she sees how much fans love iconography references she will hopefully do so again on tour. I think despite what we think the tour won't be stripped per say and I think she'll have an "act" where she performs reenactments of fan favourite songs like Scheiße, DITD and G.U.Y. BTW Ball had latex outfits (Grammy 2011), motorcycle (BTW album cover), The vessel (Grammy 2011 again), The Meat Dress (VMA 2010) and the Fame (perfume) ad projections during The Birth scene! Artrave had The Fame era -inspired visual, Seashell bikini (ITunes Fest/ VMA 2013), The Koons ball reference (2013) and the long white hair from G.U.Y era.
