Arturo 40,746
They are catchy, easy to relate to, not much depth. This is why I want Gaga to release something easy to relate to ala Bad Romance, Born This Way, The Edge of Glory NOT Marry the Night, a song about being dropped from a record label. Because that totally happens to everyone everyday :lolgaga:

Because that totally happens to everyone everyday Yeah the songs you listed are easy to relate to. I think one of the reason's why TD did so well is because everyone has had that fantasy, 'Teenage Dream'. I mean Every single that she released form there besides E.T. can be related to some event that was memorable. I mean... if Gaga did something like that. Not only would she have 5 #1's, she would make it 7 #1's and win a Grammy for best album of the year, single of the year, best performance of the year. She would slay. :Gaga:

I hope she takes the more relateable route with lyrics that people think they can relate to but is somehting totally different i.e The Edge of Glory, a lot of casual listeners view it as a love song but every monster knows its about her grandfather's death

heavymlover 340
The problem here is, besides Firework, Gaga and Katy are poles apart. Gaga doesn't even like California; she said she doesn't write about teenage love anymore (something nobody cares, in her own words), and she doesn't really like songs about partying the next Friday night. At this point our society goes for something superficial, yet fun that yeah, is very easy to relate to something like TD. Probably Gaga will never have the appeal of Katy Perry, but I'm fine as long as she doesn't go in that direction. She can write about things people can relate to. They don't have to be about California, teenage love, That party last friday, love from a different universe, or plastic bags floating in the wind.
