And knowing how to play the game is not a you can or you can't,  you do or you don't, you could say her team knows how to play the game given the coins they generate, but it doesn't mean other people can't play it better. To be honest this is so obvious I don't even see why I am arguing this. Maybe you missed the operative bit which is bold now for you "her team knows how to play the game as well as others." 

Do you really believe the teams of KP, Rhi and gaga are equally as good, I would bet that they are not and that the differences in the quality of their teams could be one of the many factors that explains why they don't all peform equally as well as one another. Please let me be clear, I am not saying gagas team is worse, I am saying her team being worse is consistent with what is happening, as are many other things. 

 

 

Tbh, I'm not even arguing, you raised lots of great points. Though for me personally, either it's Gaga's foot that is stopping payola or whatever it is just to make sure she's not a total sell out (for a hit) or that she's just suffering from career choices that forever tainted her as a not cool anymore pop singer. 

It could be a combination of both, it could be neither.

And yes, I do believe her team is equally good as other teams out there. They are the best in the game - I mean all teams of pop superstars.

But the point is either they can't do as much as other teams in terms of promo on Spotify or YouTube for that matter bc Gaga is having her way as suggested many times after the contract renegotiation or they simply can't bc Gaga is no longer as popular as the other girls bc of various things.

Though I still think both Gaga and her team know perfectly well how to get out of this commercial success limbo - they just for some reason are not making any moves towards it, fine by me as long as we get the high quality music like we did with Joanne.

Wasn't a track by ariana that isn't doing really well added to TTH though.   As evidenced by the ariana song as well as many others it seems popularity is not the only factor at play. I would be inclined to say it's payola, but then why didn't interscope just payola for gaga, they could afford to and they wanted to get the song added to playlists according to the admin. This is why i think it has something to do with the documented spotify apple rivalry. To me it seems her team picked the wrong side. But who knows, it really does confuse me.

I always believed there was some kind of deal between Gaga and Apple Music that it prevented Gaga's music from being put on TTH but it was an unpopular opinion here.

As for Interscope doing payola - we really don't know whats going on behind the scenes. We can't be sure if Gaga's new contract isnt letting her decide some crucial stuff, like payola. Tho this is too much speculation and I'm tired now Lol.

I guess for the same reason she collaborated with Florence Welch and not Rihanna or for the same reason she made her album sound more analog and not electronic and mainstream.

Tho on the other hand she promoted the album and songs like crazy using the best possible spots, so I'm freaking clueless now.
