Do you hear this a lot? I've been hearing it since the halftime show.

Do you think these people only know her classic hits? I think so because those are the songs that represent her discography.

I always tell people who say that to give her albums a listen. The hits are good, some of them are even great, but a lot of her best and most interesting material (to me) has never been on the radio.

All the time. It doesn't make me upset, the fact that they can acknowledge she is talented is enough for me. People are starting to see that she's not the weird talentless pop star the media has painted her to be in past years.

Most people I tell I'm a fan of Gaga don't really know her and I'm not sure they know she's talented, they think she's just like other popstars. Some of my friends don't like her music but know she's talented because I talk so much about her and I put her music and performances so much they have to admit she has talent.

Yes.

She's treated like a singles artist when she's really an album artist :neyde:

I've heard it a couple times and I get it. She's clearly not for everyone and that's okay. As long as the other person acknowledges she has talent, I'm fine.

I hate when people say this. Her music is catchy as f*ck like what??? How can't you like it

I guess it's the same as most of us went with Metallica,

sure they are talented and legends by now,

but Metal isn't really that approchable, for me at least.

I think with Joanne and her Jazz stuff, she's really opening up to everyone to enjoy her music.

I do. And honestly I think it's fine. We have different tastes, so people don't have to like her just because she's talented.

I wish people listened more to songs like You And I or Joanne.

Same. Tbh I think she really needs to be a little bit more mainstream, there are albums like Starboy for example which I LOVE cuz it sounds original but at the same time it follows the mainstream pattern that attracts the younger generation. Songs like "Secrets", "Love To Lay", etc reminds me of a refreshed The Fame Monster  At this point she has proven to the world that she's more than just synths and extravaganza, most of the GP knows she's talented af, now she needs to reclaim her throne as the most powerful popstar, but she MUST work with today's top artists and producers, like Max Martin, Ali Payami, BloodPop, Daft Punk, Diplo, etc. I mean, if she brought the best out of RedOne, who's a really (or was) a really mainstream producer, why can't she just work with other mainstream producers and make good, original hits? After all, she's one of the most powerful pop acts, but let's not act like she's the biggest one.

There's still some kind of... stigma linked to pop music. Like there's something a bit shameful about enjoying it, so people just won't admit it. Then of course there are people who actually don't like it, but imo, there's a good dose of hypocrisy in the mix.
