Not worried about your standom

I don't get the influx of strange comments from fans about not liking Joanne as much as they expected. You can love an artist and not be too crazy about a particular album. That's totally normal. Especially when we're talking about an artist who doesn't like to repeat herself.

You can not like the album and let fans who do just enjoy it without the constant negativity. I'm not talking talking about sharing your negative opinions of the album - that's completely fair to do here. But the constant whining about her choices and her image is getting quite frustrating. Is there any place online where a casual fan of Gaga can go to discuss her music and not have to read constant snark about her appearance?

And while some of you doom monger about her success and your fading "standom", Gaga's promoting her most personal album yet and it's opening her up to so many more people who haven't bothered to give her music a chance. This is why I think it's so cool she's not doing the typical promotional blitz. She's selling the whole album and not leaving it's success up to the fate of any one single.

And it's been working. Joanne's second week numbers are her lowest drop in sales and people are slowly realizing it's actually okay and maybe a little cool to be a Gaga fan.

These are verified accounts. Tweets from people who have a free pass to be pretentious and being negative is the easiest way to get attention.

Lol is this next one true? If so...that's pretty cool and not surprising.

RME. Still, an admission of respect.

Let it out, dude. Let it all out.

RME twice as hard at this one.

Not a personal account but...NME is Gaga hater central.

Indie rockers dig it.

Well it's not the strongest compliment, but I'll take it as a sign of progress in people recognizing her talent.

You are asking for a pink hat world that everyone are happy happy joy joy and saying amen to everything.

Come back down to earth.. this forum is full of human beings and not some gaga fans robots.

You need to deal with their negativity.. it's part of society.. if you can't handle it in a forum, so you'll have a difficult life outside of it..

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

Maybe that's the thing tho. Maybe some people hope to find a little less of the negativity BECAUSE they are on a Gaga forum and there is already of it going plenty around besides this fan forum?

I think stating an opinion in a well mannered way is the way to go.

I shouldn't have to deal with harsh, ignorant negativity though. That's a different thing. And for people like me who suffer from anxiety/depression, it can become a big load.

I feel this way too. Gaga is someone who's always made dealing with anxiety and depression easier for me. When I come online to share in excitement and thoughts on her work, I hate being inundated with needless and thoughtless negativity. It doesn't feel right. So many artists have amazing online communities where everyone just wants to revel in their work... not trash it because it's not living up to their crazy standards.

Why are people so bent out of shape over my thread? I literally said I like every song on the album, and I was completely respectful towards Gaga.

I think people should be allowed to say what they want, but people on this forum (they know who they are) can be extremely negative to the point that it's mean. Like just go to ATRL where that's an actual trend.

I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.

I can deal with a lot of negativity. Negativity itself isn't the issue, which I like to think I made clear in my OP. There's a difference between constructive criticism and just plain old meanness that a lot of fans aren't aware of.

Comments like "her face is a mess" and other variations of this are treated like valid criticism. It's not valid, necessary, wanted, funny, or even acceptable. "Stans" need to focus less on the charts and more on being decent people.

Have your favourite artist's back, because she sure as hell has yours and everyone else's. I can't really think of a kinder artist than Gaga.

They're idiotic children with an entitlement complex.

They're just saying "gaga didn't give me precisely what I fabricated in my head and expected her to put out. This means it's bad because it wasn't what was already in my brain".

I pity the poor uneducated, ignorant children who value NOTHING.
