You wouldn't be able to tell cuz nobody is talking about his sales....they only care that he's good looking. But if this were Gaga with only a few thousand copies they'd burn her alive! Plus, his song Pillowtalk is STILL very popular on radio and doesn't appear to be a flop so it hides album sales I suppose. 

Overall tho he does lack in promoting his work and with sales like that he's the new Rihanna with terrible album sales and a number one first single. Honestly I'm surprised that more horny teenage girls and boys didn't buy his music...

Overall though it goes to show that the music industry is decaying when it comes to sales

His promo has been horrible tbh, I saw this really cool theory that said that he's still with Syco (old label from 1D) and RCA, he still owes Syco an album because he didn't deliver one with 1D (it's a 5 album contract I think), so maybe the deal was that he could leave the band but he would have to deliver a solo album in another label to make up (there is no way in hell they would let a member of a very successful band just go away like that) and Mind Of Mine was that. That would explain his lack of interest in promo, maybe he sees the album as his cute little project to get out of a contract, and also cuz this would be his last album with Syco and since he obviously isn't renewing the contract they are just doing the bare minimum regarding to promo, the only ones doing something are RCA since they have long term plans for his career, but if he's uninterested then there's not much they can do. That would explain everything tbh (this theory started because Pillowtalk was released under Syco for a few moments before they realized the error and changed it to RCA).

Yes he is. He had that number one song just because of the anticipation of being the 1st !D member to start a solo acreer, but those album sales are truly dissapointing. This situation will get worse as he doesn't have any 'shocking' or 'surprise' factor that could push his career. He only has the good looks and a decent voice, not impressive tbh!

I want to state an artists revelancy is found in time. For example i believe ARTPOP will be more appreciated in the future. So, calling this young artist a flop, after his solo debut is a bit unfair.

Not here for this Can't Feel My Face trend half of the pop artists are doing so I didn't buy the single or the album.
 It doesn't help that he isn't trying to make people aware of the album, I've seen one magazine article in the last few months, and that was from a tabloid saying he and Gigi broke up
