I usually don't like when people say this but... we do need Gaga to come back. Every time she's popular she brings something fresh, and then the other artists see that it's working and are influenced by what she brings, and in turn it freshens up the whole pop scene. I've also loved This Is Acting and The Life Of Pablo, and singles by Ariana, Meghan Trainor, Beyoncé, and FKA twigs have all been great for me. That's beside the point. There are boring videos every year... some rock band performing at a concert or some other typical location; some male rapper in a mansion or in the hood surrounded by bling, women, money, and/or alcohol; some female pop star acting seductive with revealing clothes in a minimalist setting... 2. I can think of some 2016 music videos that had multiple settings and/or a story.
