I feel like our fanbase has done nothing but cheer her on (despite the fact she lip sync, barely dances, can be very uncreative, and has had like four chances to come back as the top girl but has failed to do so). I'm not just talking about online fanbases when I refer to the Britney Army being bitter. Whenever I go out to the gay bars in my city, gay guys and queens that stan for Britney hate Gaga. I've literally watched a queen get violent with a little monster because the little monster did a Brit/Gaga mash-up. Rihanna fans and Beyonce fans, even Madonna fans don't get that bothered. One time I suggested this to a Brit fan and they claimed that Gaga lied about writing Telephone for Britney and really it was Britney who wrote it for Gaga. As a Monster in the Brit Army, I can tell you that the majority of Britney fans I've encountered have been pretty hostile towards Gaga even meaner than some Madonna stans who can usually take Gaga being talented, they just think she copied a few ideas. The actions of a few tragic, awful, deluded people doesn't represent the entire fanbase. It's a juvenile thing to assume. If we went by that logic LMs have some pretty worthless people to form stereotypes around too. The ones who use their fandom as an excuse for hatred are literally always in the minority. OMG it's really true. The only fans I've encountered who roll their eyes at Gaga are hardcore Britney fans. As somebody who will always be Army before Monster I feel like I can say that's because Brit's kind of over for now without being cut up into little pieces and microwaved. The fans that are left have either really become casual and not bothered, ready for her team to get serious again some day, or they've become extremely delusional and can't see the state of her career and attack anything that charts higher than BJ did. I have a stripper friend who is the biggest Rihanna fan I know...has tattoos of her (he is a Cocky Boys **** star now ) and he loves to hear me yap about Gaga and vice versa. Alot of the Beyonce queens love Gaga too. Never intimidated. On the other hand, pretty much all my friends who love Britney seem to always be "annoyed" and super judgemental of Gaga.
