The hype was bound to be immense considering the impact 21 had. However, never say never! It really depends on what album came before and how the new one is promoted. Born This Way sold loads thanks to the back of the success she was coming from, same with Adele now. Sadly, ARTPOP left a sour taste in most people's mouths so it's only natural that LG5 won't boom in sells as people will be unsure of it. It could go on to sell like crazy as time goes on but it won't open to gigantic numbers like I'm sure Adele will. Just my two cents. There's a lot of factors that makes an album explode, I just don't think LG5 will be capable of it. We had C2C (+ a Grammy) , we had acclaimed performances and red carpets this year, we have AHS where she is doing really well and also being acclaimed. ARTPOP's mess was dead long ago.And let's not forget she managed to get 20 AWARDS this year doing nothing. If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating. C2c was a good period, oscars was her latest peak.If ahs has her in a huge scene for the finale, she can debut after that and blow the world away.In my opinion, she should debut the single in a unique way. A worldwide radio deal with a synchronised first play, get a tv commercial slot on the highest rated shows and show clips of the video, promote it like a movie trailer... something fresh. What she's doing now is rebuilding some of those bridges but would it be enough to come in and slay like Adele? I highly, highly doubt that.Am I here for it? Yeah. Will it happen? Adele could have released literally anything and it would have went well. This is one of the reasons for Gaga's massive success with the lead single of Born This Way. Gaga's last album, Cheek to Cheek, is largely unheard of. It had zero radio play and in comparison to Adele's 21, zero promotion.
