Pop Art 1,773
Congrats  The funny thing tho Is how she never ever won 1 poll on the Internet and sold only 290k Albums first week, while 1D, Gaga and Bieber and even Britney are always smashing when It comes to Internet polls etc..Β That's really really weird, seriously Β It's because Katy's actual stanbase is relatively small compared to the big ones that belong to GaGa, Britney, Bieber, and One Direction. I think this stems from her apparent overall general likability, which will give one support from the general population, but, in the female pop star realm at least, it arguably makes it impossible for one to gather a large devoted fanbase. Why do you think GaGa and Britney's fanbases are so big and so dedicated? It's likely due to the fact that both are (or in Britney's case, was) revolutionary in their approach to pop music. They've both had a lasting impact on pop music that will likely be put in the history books down the line. Unless Katy totally redoes her image, she will more than likely never receive the same treatment, and will never have a large, dedicated, loyal fanbase. Dangerous Man 9,245
BIOSECURITY officers have been directed to inspect Katy Perry CDs purchased overseas due to fears they may pose a risk to Australia. The deluxe version of the US singer's new album PRISM contains a small packet of seeds. While the production company has assured the Department of Agriculture that the Australian release contains locally sourced seeds, international versions of the album still pose a risk. "Seeds or plant material of international origin may be a weed not present in Australia or the host of a plant pathogen of biosecurity concern," a department spokesperson said. It is understood the Australian release contains harmless local Swan River daisy seeds. But a spokesperson said further inquiries were being made regarding international versions. "The Australian Government has a strong system in place to detect and respond to material of biosecurity concern. This includes the inspection of mail, cargo and baggage." If an international version of the CD is discovered, a Department of Agriculture biosecurity officer will inspect the album to assess the level of risk. "Our biosecurity officers at international airports, seaports and mail centres assess the risks associated with various items every day and are well trained in making informed decisions about whether items could be of biosecurity concern," the spokesperson said. Katy Perry's album is number one on the ARIA chart. The US version is available for under $19 from eBay including shipping, while the Australian version retails for $24.99. Earlier this year, the Australian Bureau of Statistics published data which calculated that the nation's online shopping in 2011-12 was up to $4.6 billion at domestic outlets and around $6.2 billion at international stores.
