That's a mess, that's hypocrite coming of her.

Plus, it is funny to read her trying to talk in a smart way (I'm not saying she's not smart, but you are fans of Gaga, you must know what I mean), because she can't do it.

UK Sales
Prism sold 53,827

29 last Friday (25th), Katy Perry gets a belated birthday present in the form of her second consecutive number one album, with Prism - her third album - debuting in pole position on sales of 53,827 copies. It arrives a little over three years after her second album, Teenage Dream, also opened at number one on slightly higher sales of 54,176 copies, and five years after debut album One Of The Boys opened and peaked at number 11 on sales of 18,796.

With the regular and Complete Confection versions of Teenage Dream spinning-off eight hits - seven of them Top 10 - that album has sold 1,171,340 copies to date, while One Of The Boys has sold 674,588 copies. Teenage Dreams bolts 125-36 (2,836 sales) this week.

Roar - the only single yet lifted from Prism - became Perry's fourth UK number one single seven weeks ago, and has since become her eighth single to sell upwards of 500,000 copies in the UK (seven as a primary artist, plus 3OH!3 collab. Starstrukk). Rallying 6-4 this week, Roar sold a further 50,464 copies to raise its career tally to 595,941. Ahead of it in Perry's personal best-sellers list are only Firework (966,956 sales), California Gurls (feat. Snoop Dogg, 780,787 sales), Hot N Cold (680,494 sales) and I Kissed A Girl (678,933 sales). Five other songs from Prism are in the Top 200 - Unconditionally (number 60, 3,764 sales), Dark Horse (feat. Juicy J, 100-68, 3,256 sales), Walking On Air (number 80, 2,681 sales), By The Grace Of God (number 179, 1,165 sales) and It Takes Two (number 180, 1,159 sales).

So slightly lower than Teenage Dream. It's a shame, but it is what it is, and I certainly don't expect it to drop like a rock after this!

We all knew UK album sales decreased at a slow but steady pace between 2005 and 2011, remain very high until then, but since 2012 album sales did not just continue on decreasing, they tumbled. Week on week, compared to 2011 sales of this week are down 32% as Music Week underlined. So for Katy Perry to open with the same great sales numbers as her last album did 3 years ago in a much healthier sales climate is good.

Katy remains #3 pop girl in UK. That's less than the typical Rihanna album. Talk That Talk, her best, was around 160k debut. On the other hand, it almost doubles Miley, Taylor, and Britney's last album UK debuts.

Gaga won't debut over 200k again, partly because of declining album sales (as my OP discusses).
