But I just cannot in good conscience ever vote for someone who doesn't stand up for gay rights, women's rights, and doesn't believe climate change is a real threat. The ignorance behind those stances is just too monumental. It's scary to think about someone running the country who hold's beliefs like that. Those things are a determining factor for me. Regardless of the economic views of the candidates. I like to label myself as a left-leaning moderate but if the Republican party doesn't seriously change many of their platforms I just can't see myself ever voting for one.Oh no I definitely agree with you. Environmental issues and equality are what I care about the most. I just wish the Democrats were able to compete with the Republicans economically. All I ever hear people who vote Republican talk about is the economy. I just don't hold the view that all Republicans are evil people. I wish they would put people first and economy second. If more people realized how screwed up this money system is people's attitudes would change dramatically. For goodness sake, the main reason all these candidates are even able to run is because of donations to start their campaign. It seems like we are becoming a representative plutocracy instead of an actual republic. Politics really make me sick to my stomach. I have a really hard time not thinking conspiracies and coverups. It just seems really strange to me how things trend. Racial issues, rape culture, females vs. males, etc. I'm not trying to say these things are new, they obviously are not. I'm also not trying to imply that the discussion is bad, I'm just suspicious as to why the media gets blanketed by them. I think the reason why this money system is in place is because the majority of people are obsessed with brands. It's "cool" to brand yourself and your life with Nike, Starbucks, Apple, etc. This mindset just contributes to corporations having so much power over this country. I remember Kanye West discussing this when Yeezus came out and I'm pretty sure that's what New Slaves was about. Being a slave to this system and the corporations that run it. My issue with Kanye though is how he criticized the system but then he actively promotes materialism and a superficial lifestyle. I wish more people would free their minds ARTPOP.
