Morbid 124
I've been following this thread and case for a while now and this is truly infuriating. The whole department needs to be investigated and dealt with accordingly.
No Angel 128
• It is rumored that the officer who shot Michael Brown is the nephew of Ferguson's Mayor. But that's not looking like it's true. • Confirmed: The officer did not write his own incident report. This isn't looking good. • What makes this situation so bizarre is that it's been confirmed that Michael Brown has never had a criminal record. So this surveillance incident makes it so....strange. I mean, that wouldn't stop someone with a clean record from doing bad things, but no past records, high school graduate, going to college(?) Meh. • Also, if the chief confirmed that the robbery has no relation to his death, that means this won't be able to be held up in court, but I'm sure they will find a way. (Correct me if I'm wrong here) Thoughts? Edited August 16, 2014 by No Angel

And also, Janelle Monae and company posted a photo showing solidarity: Edited August 16, 2014 by MahoganySnitch

No Angel 128
Department of Justice urged Ferguson Police NOT to release Robbery video, explaining it would do nothing for the case and it would raise tensions in the community. Ferg. Police went ahead and released it anyways with the name of the officer yesterday. Ferguson community members form barriers blocking people from looting stores. Out of towners from suburban areas coming in trying to start trouble. They were immediately stopped by police and Ferg. community members! Applause 650
Just saw this breaking news while browsing news sites. Missouri Gov. declares state of emergency, curfew following Ferguson protests Missouri governor has declared a state of emergency and set a curfew in Ferguson suburb where a black teenager Michael Brown was shot dead by police last weekend, sparking a series of week-long mass protests. The curfew will be imposed from midnight to 5 am local time, according to Captain Ronald Johnson of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, who also spoke at the press conference, following Governor Nixon. Logan 20,835
Although what has happened is tragic, I think everything that has stemmed from this will change things for the better. At least I can hope. People are being more vocal about their opinions and social media has been effective at keeping people informed.

It really sucks that things like this have to happen just for people to understand. I hope the family of Brown gets the help they need. Someone allegedly bough a dozen boxes of pizzas, sat them on a car and said "here you go" to the peaceful protestors. Some people in the Ferg. community are blocking stores from looters, too. Despite the anger and craziness in some events like this, it kind of brings out the humanity in people who want to help and make differences. It also gets the young people involved, too. So that's a good thing. :) If this hasn't helped people understand relations in some form, then.. Edited August 16, 2014 by No Angel
No Angel 128
People are still protesting regardless of the curfew. Police threaten to take extra measures against those not obeying curfew. Police throw tear gas at protestors not obeying the curfew. They're saying it's smoke, but others are reporting otherwise.
