October 11. I'll add the date to the title closer to the premiere as a reminder for people. :)

Hey, I was wondering if you knew.  Since I was on here already thought it would be easier than searching online. :)  Do you know how for the past few Sundays AMC has been showing an entire season one at a time as a marathon?  Last Sunday, was all of S4.  Will they also reshow S5 this Sunday for excitement for FTWD or was showing S 1- 4 promo for the S5 release on DVD?

I've heard of the marathons over the weekends, but unfortunately I don't live in the USA so I'm not 100% sure. I'd imagine they would be showing season 5 this weekend, because FTWD starts. It's a perfect lead-in to the premiere of the new show. I'd probably guess AMC probably planned it so that the TWD marathon would finish the day of the FTWD premiere. :)

Loving your new username, by the way Dove!

I thought that too about the marathon finishing the day FTWD begins.  Thanks for answering; I'll just wait and see for sure.  :)  I wasn't sure what country you lived.

CAST UPDATE:

The past two years, AMC has announced cast promotions for the next season quite soon after the finale, but this year they've taken their time. Today the promotions were finally announced.

PROMOTIONS FROM RECURRING STATUS TO SERIES REGULAR:

Alexandra Breckenridge (Jessie Anderson)

Tovah Feldshuh (Deanna Monroe)

Austin Nichols (Spencer Monroe)

CURRENT REGULAR CAST OF SEASON 6:

Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes)

Chandler Riggs (Carl Grimes)

Melissa McBride (Carol Peletier)

Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon)

Steven Yeun (Glenn Rhee)

Lennie James (Morgan Jones)

Lauren Cohan (Maggie Greene)

Danai Gurira (Michonne)

Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha Williams)

Alanna Masterson (Tara Chambler)

Michael Cudlitz (Abraham Ford)

Josh McDermitt (Eugene Porter)

Christian Serratos (Rosita Espinosa)

Seth Gilliam (Father Gabriel Stokes)

Ross Marquand (Aaron)

Alexandra Breckenridge (Jessie Anderson)

Tovah Feldshuh (Deanna Monroe)

Austin Nichols (Spencer Monroe)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Those who have been bolded are those whose names will appear in the opening credits and are therefore considered the 'main cast.' Those not bolded are regulars. They are technically considered main, but AMC only allows spots in the opening credits to a certain amount of actors.

Sorry for the big post! I just wanted to share this information.

I don't recall Spencer having that big of part last season.  It will be interesting to see what they do with him now that his brother and father are gone.  Cast list looks very good - glad that Lennie James has a slot.  He's my favorite, second only to the incomparable Daryl of course.  :sara:

Yes, Spencer had a pretty small role last season. All I can really remember of him was the scene with Sasha at the party where he was introduced, and the aftermath of his brother's death.

I will just say that Spencer has a relatively big role in the comics. Although I'm not sure if he'll end up following the same path because so far, he seems rather different to his comic counterpart. I guess we'll see where he ends up. I definitely wasn't expecting him to be bumped up to series regular, though.

FIVE DAYS, guys. I'm way too excited. I've missed [scary guy voice] "Previously on AMC's The Walking Dead" so much

And I've missed Daryl's caveman-like grunts so much.  Lol.  :sara:

The official season 6 premiere took place in New York tonight. I'm currently sifting through some threads and sites looking at images from the event, but here's a few to start off with. I might post more soon.

I can't wait to see the show tomorrow night. It hasn't even felt like a long break either.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.
