ELECTRAHEARTPOP 93
There are some points I agree on, but I think a relaunch of the ARTPOP era was the best possible way to go, and I think from the way things look on the radio/GP front, it could moderately-highly successful. We shouldn't attack him though, Bill knows his stuff and as you can see, channels his views in a respectful and knowledgeable manner.
Michael 533
He sounds intelligent but I don't agree with what he said about ARTPOP. I think it is her strongest work.

Runway 27,876
he makes it sound like her last hit was Bad Romance and she's had 7 top 10 hits since then :awkney:
TellEm 1
He's not stanning lol. But I can see that he is respectably level-minded, and definitely cares for and respects her. I don't agree though that there are no GP-pleasing tracks to be found on ARTPOP
Whispering 18,865
It can be done tho. If Gaga looks beautiful in her videos, makes songs everyone can relate to( Just Dance, Poker Face, Telephone), stops being preachy then evetything will be fine. Im not sayng that she must do it but if she wants to be well received by the public and people to not be ashamed to listen to her then something needs to change. Gaga doesn't look "beautiful" in her videos...not in the classic way and not all the way through them. She has always challenged the idea of beauty. In essence, you are wanting her to do the same "be a pretty Barbie" facade that Troy wanted her to do...and she fired his ass for that! ;) Gaga isn't going to make her music and her artistry boil down to tits and ass- she told everyone that in the SXSW speech! The songs from TFM weren't anymore "relatable" than her singles from the last two eras. Relatable is overrated anyhow, a date rape song was the #1 song of the year last year! Gaga should do exactly what she wants to do and say exactly what she wants to say. She has been "preaching" since The Monster Ball, and she's not going to stop. She speaks out for issues she believes in and tries to make a difference. She can't stop doing that, just so she can get a #1 on some silly Pop chart! If that was Gaga's end goal and her reason for everything she did, she wouldn't be the person and artist she is, she would be like some of those other Pop girls who make that their primary goal. If that is what I admired, I would go and stan them, but I don't. I much prefer someone with complex thoughts and a unique vision and voice, even if that means that artist isn't going to be everyone's favorite "pretty pop girl with a string of #1 hits"! If you have to compromise everything you are, it's not worth it! Not for anybody!

Objectively it isn't, because there's nothing to connect to for most people. For some fans it might be their favorite though

For some fans it might be their favorite though I'd actually be more inclined to say that to the general public, The Fame was a lot less relateable than ARTPOP. And plus, I don't buy into the idea that music needs to be relateable to draw in the general public. At all.

Michael 533
It doesn't have to be. But most times it helps. I seriously don't think that the GP sit there and say "Oh well in this song Lady Gaga is singing about how she loves her fans, I don't have fans therefore I don't relate." If it's catchy, they'll like it.

Some of her current work IS better than her older work and some of her current work is not as good. What I can always count on with Gaga is memorable moments and every era gives me at least three songs I can't live without. That's why most of us are still here. Gaga can sing and perform live so she doesn't need to sacrifice her art for commercial success. That is what I  about her.

If it's catchy, they'll like it. True. If its catchy ENOUGH they will like it. But they could also be like "I wanna be the grave and earth you....dafuq is this bit talking about?" And then change the station or not by the song. I think G.U.Y will be a moderate hit. Hot 100 6-

Hot 100 6-10 lol i really don't think that the casual radio listener is listening that deep into the lyrics to change the station because they don't understand what she is talking about in a line in the song.
