I personally liked the performance

I don't even really like ARTPOP the song but this version was interesting and should get people interested in the album.

You don't have to like that she performed ARTPOP, but you're so blinded by the rigid idea of ONLY promoting the current single that you can't even appreciate this performance for what it is and what it did for the album. 

 

It was a very good performance, but here you are complaining because it didn't go exactly your little stan mind imagined it. lol

 

And I LOVE G.U.Y., but that doesn't mean I'm gonna just trash this performance or agree with you regardless of the fact that I thought it was excellent. 

 

Also, can somebody PLEASE tell me when liking something Gaga did automatically meant you're a blind follower. give me a break.

I would want G.U.Y to be performed whether it was a single or not. Same with Donatella and MJH, because they were never performed before. Swine even, because I love that song. Thing is, ARTPOP has already been performed 4 times. It's getting really stale now. She put on a great performance, I liked it, but I'd have much preferred G.U.Y.

And some fans just won't accept other fans' opinions, don't act like that doesn't happen.

The performance was ok her vocals were outstanding, overall I loved it and I do hope it is a single at some point, in my opinion nothing on ARTPOP could be a hit anymore I just want videos and performances, I don't care if its successful or not if she doesn't care why should we, well anything could happen I'm just happy we got a performance.

Regardless, it still got very good reviews from both critics and listeners alike. Something not going top 10 doesn't mean majority of people didn't like it.

So if GUY wasn't going to be a single, why would she perform it anyway? The only reason to expect it to get a performance is because you think it's going to be a single. And don't try bringing up ARTPOP because that is an obvious exemption.

 

That's great that you don't care about charts. Interscope and GaGa do. If they were looking to promote the next single, they wouldn't be performing on Jimmy Fallon.

 

If you're disappointed, that's your own fault for getting your hopes up. I was expecting DWUW just because of the way this era has been going, and I was pleasantly surprised to get an objectively great performance. The single hasn't been announced yet so I don't know why she would perform it out of nowhere.

Are you lacking common sense? First of all, the song is called ARTPOP. Second, it's presumably her favorite song considering she's performed it 4 times. Third, it's obviously symbolic since it sums up her entire concept of ARTPOP. As I already said in the OP, she said she's restarting the era so what better song to than the title track; the song that IS ARTPOP.

 

Performing any other song would've been completely out of nowhere. Performing ARTPOP made sense. If you can't see the connection then I feel bad for you.

How does it not make sense? The majority of people who watch late night TV are older men who don't give a **** about Lady GaGa. There is no show that's completely her demographic but late night TV will bring about as many sales as a PBS performance.

It's as simple as not setting yourself up for a disappointment. You can HOPE for G.U.Y, but setting expectations based on rumors is only going to end up making you upset. It's the same as me hoping for Venus, I'd really like it to happen but I can't expect it. I learned this back when I wanted Dance In The Dark as a single.
