2,1m in US

~1,5m outside US

So, about 3,6m WW

*It didn't sell 1.5m outside the US, more like 900k.

ohhhh... my first post. Anyways.. I think that the reason DWUW is not doing as well as some other songs is not because of R. Kelly (Because I know many of my friends who aren't little mosters like it). I just think that the planning behind releasing it and the promotion weren't done well. Alsom releasing an Xtina remix (even though I like it) I don't think was a smart choice

Welcome  hope you enjoy it here :)

Although, I personally believe DWUW promotion was on point, it was performed in SNL, the AMAs, and The Voice. Those are the best promotion spots in the US apart from the Grammys, the release was messy of course because Venus was planned. But the promotion I found even better than Applause apart from the video.

hi

I actually do think releasing a remix with Xtina was a good move, but the song should have a video by now...

It needs it for stability, for TV promo etc...

Applause has sold between 1 - 1.3M WW.

*From the certifications that we have its only about 700k though, so we don't actually know.

True. My prediction is based on estimations alone but its close to reality. Applause has topped 1M sales WW some time ago.

thanks.. oh yes, performing the song on such shows was brilliant. Only problem though, is that she didn't do much after that.. the song has been forgotten by many people. The whole thing is just happening too slowly. Unless the DWUW is as spectacular as Bad Romance, I don't think it will save the song as much as it could have earlier on in the promotion process.

Yes, but that's not promo's fault :noparty: if a song is destined to smash performances such as those would have kept it high in the charts instead of always falling down after promo effect. She couldn't have done much more apart from releasing the video, that's the only missing component.

Looks as if Venus is going to be the 3rd single. I'm alright with this.

I'm going to take a guess that it'll be Venus up until April, then Gypsy promoted through the tour -> July followed by Sexxx Dreams at the VMA's. Not bad.

If Venus is indeed going to be the third single then I'm out for this single era. Sorry not sorry. It's just me though...
