Why not? If Gypsy flops or underperforms, it's very clear that people are not completely here for Gaga going safe after 3 released safe choices turning into moderate hits. If the song smashes, then having two hits and a smash is already satisfactory in my book, so giving a try to a more complex song is not going to hurt at that point. Then you can release the second fan favorite a go on tour. :)Add also Sexxx Dreams after Gypsy or after Venus and I agree 100%. Applause isn't a safe single choice at all though... I mean I do understand what you mean but DWUW, Gypsy etc is just good music and should be released exactly because it's good not because it feels like it's safe or something. When talking about Venus we talk about it being risky and something she should do cause Bad Romance was also risky. I don't know, Bad Romance was freakin awesome and so high quality and unique that it was absolutely inevitable for them to release it as a single, but do you actually feel the same about Venus? I find Venus sooooo messy and like this 'trying so hard to make something unique again' which it's not in my opinion, makes me even cringe a bit. I'm just expressing my feelings towards all this and it would be really great for me to just hear the reasons from you guys who think Venus is good-risky not bad-risky (although like I already said I myself don't like to call music risky or not risky, more like unique when it's different compared to other songs) :) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

So it was behind PRISM the whole time when it was discounted and now it jumped ahead of prism (which is still discounted) after going back to $15 ? In the weeks since Thanksgiving, Prism has been discounted almost every week. The majority of KP's iTunes sales have been at $7.99, where Gaga's have been twice that price. No wonder ARTPOP dropped down on the chart! Gaga would easily be in the 700-750K range now if her CD had been $7.99 and $6.99 during the last month and a half. Ok. But what do you think about the lyrics? This is the part that mostly puts me off. If it's the other way around Gaga doesn't have a safe single to release anymore after Venus and we're in the same position again as after MTN . Todays Pop increase was huge, and at this rate DH would need 27 days to catch DWUW. Probably DWUW wont do 200+ spins tho for long, so it will be interesting. People used to say the same thing about Bad Romance when it was just released. Bad Romance had a great chorus but people thought the rah-rahs were weird. Eventually the strange structure kept the song interesting. Venus has the same strange structure to keep it interesting and the chorus is amazing, just like Bad Romance. Bad Romance was a huge hit, also because the killer video, give Venus such a video and I think it can slay. Also she's not trying hard imo because she made that same bombastic and strange music structure populair, so it's a bit of her trademark.
