As I already said: Venus's structure: Verse Pre Chorus Chorus 2nd Verse Pre Chorus Chorus Post Chorus Bridge Chorus Pre Chorus while Gypsy's structure is like no other song. Jewelz and Drugs does not have a lot of smash potential on urban. You might think it could be a crossover hit, but it's just not a good enough song for that. All the monsters I know have ranked it in their bottom lowest 3. Also, my straight, male, urban-listening friends do not think it's a good song. I mean come on people! The lyrics are cliche and almost cringe worthy! The chorus is also corny ("Don't want your jewels/ just want your d--gs"), and thus would not appeal to GP/pop radio. I know it might seem that because it's so "out there" that it oculd smash, but that is not what Gaga needs right now, and JnD is probably the least likely song from ARTPOP to improve Gaga's image. 2. Both ARTPOP and Gypsy are much safer single choices than Venus. Yeah, Venus is different and has a cool sound. Guess what? This "new sound" of Venus isn't what the GP is looking for in terms of a new sound. In case people didn't notice, the cool "new sound" is a mix of indie sound with pop/dance music. Look at the songs on the charts right now. The GP is loving "wake me up". They would love ARTPOP. It's the perfect pop/dance/indie mix that is not only safer for radio, but just a better bet for Gaga's career. Oh, and if any of you think ARTPOP doesn't have smash potential, you need to get your ears checked. No hate to anyone who thinks differently. Your entitled to your opinion, as am I. Venus is the best song of the album from every aspect but it will not smash because people's taste is **** Gypsy on the other hand is a bit basic but it will smash I would agree with you, but you never know what ppl will go for. Maybe Venus happens to blow the mind of GP and it will be Gaga's another Bad romance-kinda-moment. Luc 4,775 Posted December 30, 2013 Share Posted December 30, 2013 Flaws: - vocals sound a bit weird in my opinion - very... cheesy - at some points it sounds like Bad Romance/TeoG - it's very loud - the 'toniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight' is very annoying - the production sounds basic - the I'm I'm I'm a gypsy is soooo - the way she names those countries as if she's in a hurry like calm down just why Pros: - the lyrics are understandable - it shows her vocals better than the average Gaga song - can be performed acoustically and still sound like the normal track - it mentions countries - the bridge is kinda good - it's a very... positive song?
